Comrade Petukh Aims to Nationalize More Industries

Just like he did with the auto industry, which has been such a smashing success until you start looking into the actual numbers.

We’d link, but it’s Politico so you’re just going to have to do your own Googling.

“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he said.

It has? That’s news to anybody in the world who actually has been watching, but if you say so, Mein Führer, then it must be true.

“Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.

You want the government to take over every single industry in the country, firing anybody who’s not a member of a union, stealing the property of bond holders in direct violation of the law (which “pragmatic conservatives” don’t care about because it would be “unhelpful” to point out the truth) and foot the taxpayers with the bill? We already knew that, but thanks for clarifying.

“Pragmatic conservatives” urging everybody to not take this too seriously because the Kenyan Kommie Kunt is “really just a good man a bit in over his head” in 4…3…2…

This bastard has to be removed from office, and tomorrow would be three years too late.

Then he needs to be tried, convicted and executed for treason in ways that would make Satan himself vomit with disgust.

Thatisall.

Got a new name to put into rotation for Der Fubar. There are times when it seems appropriate to refer to him as Obama Debt Laden, particularly now, when we seem to be having so much trouble making this election all about the economy, which should be enough to see him thrown all the way back to Nairobi.

Not QUITE what he said, and of course taken completely out of context.

“I said I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back and GM is number one again. So now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs not just in the auto industry, but in every industry. I don’t want those jobs taking root in places like China. I want them taking root in places like Pueblo.”

NO WHERE did he say anything about “nationalizing” or buying up other industries. Additionally, Obama never “nationalized” the auto industry either. Money was loaned to GM and Chrysler, and both have repaid those loans with interest. It not only saved GM and Chrysler, it also saved Ford, and virtually every other support manufacturing company tied to the auto industry. If you think the economy sucks now, we would be in a devastating worldwide depression right now if GM and Chrysler were dissolved.

It is failure to see the big picture that proves that Conservatives are completely wrong.

If only it were so easy. The truth is that Obama has become many things to the observant voter. He is the chief executive of the country during the worst economy of the modern era (if performance matters anymore), and by any objective measure, the economy is not his priority. Not even close. News broke earlier this week that the total count of Americans on government assistance now exceeds 100 million. Enrollment in Social Security Disability insurance outpaces employment growth. Just a few years ago, someone predicting these results would have been called crazy. Yet the important question: “how did this nation build the greatest economy in the history of humanity with policies that were the opposite of his?” goes unasked and unanswered.

He is a very sophisticated demagogue, far more so than any other modern President, and it has become very clear to me that in the many situations where he might have said or done something that would have put the country first, he has chosen to put himself first. He is by education, experience and background exquisitely ill-prepared to address the structural problems in the US economy that are making this era different from any other, and in many ways the strikes against him here are as much a consequence of him simply being the wrong man for the times as anything else.

He has also put his thumb on the scales of justice so many times that the rule of law at the federal level has become a joke. Just look at the mess that he and his appointees have made of the Justice Department. ICE. EPA. HHS. Agriculture. Commerce. Treasury. State. He is renowned for his ability to direct federal dollars to his cronies and supporters through a myriad of agencies and programs, and a week does not go by that does not add to the count.

I could go on and on, but many of the facts that his administration has failed to hide are freely available to the open-minded student of American political and economic history. A few hours spent in comparative analysis with an open mind are sufficient to reach this level of comprehension.

The real point that we need to come to terms with is that Obama is a mirror of our society. We have become a nation of thumbsuckers, looking to the government for everything and willing to trade our freedoms for some illusion of security; for a handout instead of a handup; to be allowed to hide our insecurities and envy in self-righteous anger at our rich neighbors; to be made to feel better about our petty jealousies and our manufactured indignations at those with differing opinions; to be permitted to remain children in a world once inhabited by adults who braved the perils of freedom and strove mightily on our behalf. We are a nation of people who seem to have no problem with the notion that able-bodied men and women live out their lives as wards of the state. The spiritual and moral decay that afflicts us as a consequence of these indulgences is abundantly evident all around us, yet we refuse to see it. In our obese children. In our public school test scores. In our dropout rates. In the five and a half years it now takes on average to get a four year degree. In our suicide rates. In our divorce rates. In the fraction of our citizens currently in prison. In the SNAP program. In SSDI enrollment. In the records broken each year in the sales of psychoactive pharmaceuticals. In the dismal state of leadership at the federal, state and local levels. In the strident, petulant voices of the OWS movement. In our clueless inattention to the greatest fraud in human history that is the collusion between our government and the Federal Reserve. In the passive acceptance of the spirit-crushing intrusion of government into every aspect of our daily lives.

So yes, Obama is many things to the conservative voter. His presence in the Oval Office is truly frightening not just because of what he has done and appears capable of; but what Americans seem willing to allow him to do to us.

Oh, and that remark about conservatives not seeing the big picture? Yea, no, I don’t think so.

Ford didn’t need help, for one, it had enough assets and cash to weather the storm because it wasn’t run by people as terminally stupid as the management of GM and Chrysler, respectively. And second… the Left needs to make up its damned mind. All the time I hear rants about how the government is doing this corporate welfare thing, how big companies are evil, or greedy, or whatever… and then here we have the government bailing them out, two of the largest companies in this country, and suddenly the Left is OKAY with this?

Oh, that’s right, it’s because Obama did it. I called Bush out on being a dumbass with his bailouts, I called Obama out on the same thing. The automotive industry is favored by Obama because of the Unions. Period. End-of-story. He’s got his tongue so far up their collective-bargaining bungholes he’s probably tasting prostate. And FYI, the apocalypse won’t happen because GM stops making shitty cars. This whole doom-and-gloom if a badly run company is allowed to go bankrupt thing.. it’s all bunk. Bankruptcy is capitalism’s way of cleaning out the crap and freeing up resources (people, capital, cash… all of it) to go do something else that is more productive. Yeah, sucks to be the guy laid off… I’ve been there. But a job isn’t a fucking right, and we don’t live in a fantasy utopia where nobody ever has to worry about bad shit happening because of shitty management.

That’s the beauty of the Left’s double standard. Bush bails out a company? Evil. Obama does it? Glorious! Bush goes and starts bombing some middle eastern shithole? Evil! Obama does it? Glorious!

    1) We are already in a devastating worldwide depression right now. Have you not been paying attention to the EU’s financial woes? Germany would be best off to pull the plug on all of them, and without Germany to finance them the rest of the EU collapses like the liberaltopia wet dream that it is.

    2) GM and Chrysler would not have dissolved, they would have declared bankruptcy and been able to re-organize without the crushing debt that the Union contracts have put them under. Instead they were allowed to escape the larger part of the consequences of their horrible mis-management and as a result they have learned nothing. Expect this to occur again.

    3) Saying NUH-UHH!!! at the top of your voice doesn’t change anything. What do you call an eco-political system where the means of production is technically privately owned but in reality is owned by the government? Here’s a hint, when the government can fire your CEO…they own you. We ain’t there yet, but those first faltering steps have been taken.

Not quite. The cash was repaid. The rest was government buying up stocks with taxpayer money – a losing proposition.

Our tally of ProPublica’s work on General Motors, GMAC, Chrysler and Chrysler Financial Services shows that of $80 billion spent by taxpayers on the entire bailout, we’re still waiting on nearly $40 billion, a number confirmed by the Treasury Department. At some point, selling taxpayers’ stock in GM and GMAC may earn back a chunk of the rest. But all of it? The story’s not over yet.

    There he goes again ;)

And NO WHERE did OgabeCare call the government panels assigned to decide who gets treatment and who can just take two aspirins until they die “death panels”, so therefore they are not, in fact, “death panels.”

Except this is even more full of fail.

Ogabe’s Junta took over a huge chunk of GM stock and they gave the rest to his unions, which is a distinction without a difference. So GM is owned by the government and the unions, the latter funneling all of their profits to the former.

Really brilliant, if you’re a fucking moron. It’s like me, were I a billionaire, forming a bunch of umbrella corporations beholden solely to me and then having them buy out a corporation. I could then claim that, since they weren’t my company, the corporation hadn’t been technically bought out by me. I didn’t own them, a number of other corporations did, and the fact that all of those were beholden to me is wholly irrelevant. Look! A squirrel!

Of course, there IS a difference. In my example I would still have had to use my own money to pull it off.

Ogabe Hussein used MY money to do the same.

Quite elegant, really. He hands over full control of GM to the UAW (illegally stiffing GM’s other creditors in the process), the UAW funnels all of their profits to the National Socialist Democrat Workers’ Party’s campaign coffers, yet it’s NOT “nationalization” because he didn’t use that exact word.

Much like you can’t compare national socialist Ogabe to national socialism because he didn’t invade Poland and didn’t murder 6 million Jews. Yet. Godwin’s Law, which was initially nothing but a reaction to the silliness of USENet posters saying stuff like “Hitler was a vegetarian, therefore all vegetarians are Nazis”, has now devolved to the point where you can’t even compare NAZIS to the Nazis. Unless, of course, they actually invaded Poland and murdered 6 million Jews.

Much like the word “racist” doesn’t mean anything anymore.
