We Are Beginning to Rather Like the Cut of His Jib, In Spite of Ourself

No, His Imperial Majesty is not turning into a RomneyBot, but credit where credit is due, and showing up at an NAACP convention to give a speech is, at the very least, inspired. If, of course, it’s not a blatant pandermonium, which this appearance surely wasn’t. Criticizing OgabeTaxCare in front of the NAACP?

The DNC Media is, of course, spiking the football furiously over the fact that Mittens got booed at that point but, seriously, what the fuck did anyone expect?

Any idiot can show up at an event and say whatever he knows the audience wants to hear, as a matter of fact 99.9999% of politicians never do anything else, but showing up to present something that you know is going to be unpopular? Well played.

And what the DNC Media helpfully doesn’t “waste” any time on covering is the fact that it wasn’t all booing. His defense of marriage brought applause, his presenting the undeniable fact that the OgabeDepression has hit blacks worse than any other group went over rather well, and there were other moments too.

And what does Ogabe do? He sends Joe the Clownshoe Choo Choo Biden because His Ogabeness really can’t be arsed to show up himself, hobnobbing with the darkies that he treats for granted while he’s busy playing golf or sucking up to paler than pale whitey Hollyweirdos with fat bank accounts. Face it, black America, he’s just not that into you, as if you needed any further proof. You’re not rich enough and, besides, it’s not like Marse Barrack doesn’t already own you from the tip of your toes to your heads, at least in his own mind.

We’d be at least mildly pissed off if we were the NAACP. And by “mildly pissed off” we mean “burning red hot with the fury of a thousand suns.”

Nicely played, Mittens. The Man of the People™, the black Messiah, sends a surrogate and the Honky Millionaire Who Just Doesn’t Care™ comes in person to state his case.

Anybody who really, honestly believes that Mittens showing up was a “misstep” needs to seriously shut the fuck up and never again speak where adults are assembled.

Oh, and bonus detail: The media now won’t shut up talking about his appearance which, we believe, is called “free coverage.” Thanks, you wonderfully retarded twats. Really. Thanks.

Thatisall.

It’s my understanding that Romney got a pretty healthy ovation at the end of his speech which of course the “unbiased media” is taking great pains not to mention.

When the Obamazombies start churning out the inevitable “Romney’s a racist!” ads, The Romney team ought to respond with ads prominently featuring the ovations he received from the NAACP.

It would be a large stick jammed into the “Romney’s a racist!” bicycle spokes.

So far Willard is making all the right moves. I must say I’m impressed so far. If he keeps up the good work I may just go ahead and vote for him without guzzling down a bottle of Glenfiddich first.

I think he should have closed with the following:

“The NAACP was a fine organization that for decades worked to end racism and discrimination against people of recent African decent.

By the mid to late 1970′s something happened to this organization. It changed. Why was this? Basically they became an organization without a mission. Today most people do NOT consider a persons skin tone to be of any importance. Those that do are few in number and are usually dealt with by shunning or outright laughter at their stupidity.

In other words, they NAACP succeeded in it’s goal. They should have simply folded their tent and announced that their work was done. Instead, they reversed course and became that which they fought against for a century.

    That saddens me.

    Thank you”

Now that would have sent leftist heads exploding. It also would have required actual courage from Romney. I had a few other pieces of advice I offered to him earlier this week.

Save the good Glenfiddich for the celebration AFTER the votes are counted.

And it was rather interesting to count the number of times on the CNN page that “Romeny booed” showed up and never once a mention that overall he was not just ‘well received’ but got a STANDING O at the end.

It would have been good if Mittens could explain to the NAALCP how damaging the Great Society/War on Poverty has been to America’s black population, and just why self reliance is so important to them as a whole. The subtle racism which says “we know it’s too hard for you, let us take care of you” has led to so many social ills it may take a hundred years to reverse. It’s not a safety net, it’s a slaver’s net.

    O My Emperor,

Here’s where I really give Mittens credit. He is out there TRYING to win this thing.

I live and work here in the DC area (please don’t hate me), trying to advance the conservative cause. In 2008 I saw the same thing I saw in 1996 – conservative and GOP activists trying harder to put McCain and Dole into the White House than McCain and Dole themselves.

It was like a preview of Heath Ledger’s Joker, looking down on Aaron Eckhart in his hospital bed: “I’m like a dog chasing cars. I wouldn’t know what to do with it if I caught it.” Blob Dough and Jonny McCainiac caught their car in the form of the GOP Nomination, and one imagines that that was the goal all along. Let the Obamandias have the White House (along with the Adulterer-in-Chief), just so that *I* go down in history as the Also-Ran.

Mitt Romney is actually trying to win the Whole Shebang. Good for him. And GOOD for him for showing up there, making arguably the best case for actual conservatism he’s EVER made (at least in public), and winning, if not votes, at least some respect.

Glenfiddich is to be enjoyed, not guzzled like some sort of barbarian. Just don’t mix it with Coke…

In any event, I’ll enjoy Glenfiddich on election day. Hopefully in celebration; otherwise to drown my sorrows.

I guess I’m just too damn cynical to drink some Kool-aid yet (and, no, that was not intended to be a pun but worked out to be one rather nicely).

I waiting for the other shoe to drop … for Romney to pick someone like Christie or Daniels or Pawlenty, Heaven forbid, Condoleeza Rice as his VP. It will be milquetoast to the power of 2.

If he really wants a woman VP, he should pick Bachmann. Aside from the other issues with picking her, Palin would just plain outshine Romney.

Me neither, but that trip to the NAACP was a pretty shrewd move. Doesn’t mean that I don’t still despise the Country Club RINO GOP, that’s never going to change, and I remain utterly suspicious of Mittens. Still, a smart move is a smart move, no matter who makes it.

Of course Teh Won didn’t show up; they’re requiring two forms of ID to get in there to hear Holder say that having to show ID to vote is the equivalent of a poll tax or a literacy test.

As one pointed out to me yesterday, Romney won’t win the majority of the black vote. My response is that the NAACP appearance will win a few and anything less than the 95% last time is a step in the right direction. What it also may do is have a whole lot of those who will NEVER vote for an R stay home rather than vote for one that isn’t all that appealing once the FIRST label wears off. LC Gregory @ #:
