Happy Fourth of July!

You might ask “what’s there to be happy about?” considering the direction the nation is going in, and I’ll tell you “we’re still here.”

Oh sure, we’ve taken quite a few kicks to our tender bits and the future looks, to put it mildly, glum. But it ain’t over ’till its’ over and…

We’re still here.

So the enemy knocked a big fucking hole in our lines, but we’re not done. Shell-shocked a bit, perhaps, but we’ve still got the cooks and typists to hand out rifles to and, by G-d, they’re not going to pass this line.

G-d has a plan for this nation. He didn’t make it so a bunch of farmers with pitch forks and muskets, after having beat the world’s most professional military and navy, TWICE, became the strongest nation in the world through several devastating wars only so we could turn into Greece.

Not on our watch.

So let’s raise our glasses, make a toast to the best nation that ever was and then let’s see how much ammo we’ve got left and get ready for the next battle.

Should it come to that, this cook is a pretty fair shot, and although at my advancing age, I may be one of the first to go down, I will have done my part to clean up the shallow end of the gene pool before they finally get me.

Teach your children what this day means; work to ensure that whoever is elected President on November 6th will face a conservative Congress; laugh and live well; and God willing, we will turn this nation’s attentions back to the principles that once made it great and that afford each American the chance to live a life they themselves have shaped.

Happy Fourth of July, Rotties, and for all who have served and continue to do so who encounter these words, my humble thanks for writing the blank check that has kept this nation strong and its people safe.

Things do indeed look dark this Independence Day but this great nation has faced worse. It’s just that this time the enemy is within.
This enemy is a gang of cockroaches that scurry from the light. We are the keepers of the light of liberty that the cockroaches fear.
Lady Liberty’s torch is dim and her arm has grown tired. It’s up to us to give her the support she needs just as Aaron and Hur supported Moses when Joshua fought Amalek.
In that spirit and to honor the men who left us a legacy of victory against tyranny I spent this Independence Day honing my skills with the instrument that saved the world during one of our darkest times, the Rifle, Caliber .30, M1.

    Oh fer crying out loud!

You can tell how long a person has been here with a statement like that dreck.

    Seriously?

Buck the fuck up, will you? As a nation, we’ve waxed and waned a lot longer than you have hung your hat here — and yet we are STILL here.

If you thought by coming over here things would somehow magically be” Reaganistic”, then perhaps you got your signals crossed.. There is nothing different now than there has EVER been. If you knew anything about our history you would realize that.

We have always been a nation in flux, and always will be. It is what makes us so great — we bend, but we never break. Don;t like the scenery now? Wait four years — it is bound to change. We have so many checks and balances that it will NEVER get too far out of whack, no matter how much dire you want to inject in your daily diatribes.

We may switch to a Conservative narrative in four months. For the following four years it will be LIBERAL who decry the end of the world. After that, it MIGHT switch back. This has been our history.

The funny thing is that this has been going on since 1787! We are still here!

    Happy Fourth of July.

This is the time we thank the Almighty for His blessing of having the Founders codify the principles of freedom. We thank those who put it on the line in the past, now, and in the future, to protect that freedom. May we all hold Mitt’s feet to the fire and those of our duly elected and appointed representatives to repeal Obamacare. In freedom’s cause!

To be accurate, independence wasn’t won by the signing.
It was the last gut-check before smacking king george with the gauntlet.
The Signers each paid for it in many ways.
What they bequeathed to us can’t be pissed away by frauds and impostors.
It’s built into our very character.

    Blessed with victory and peace
    May the Heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.

    Then conquer we must
When our cause it is just –
And this be our motto: “In God is our Trust!”

And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

May we all keep the faith!

I see a huge difference between then and now. Years ago, we had a population with a work ethic who aspired, if not to get rich, then at least to retire comfortably. They were mostly two-parent families, where the father worked, and the mother stayed home to care for the children. Parents and schools disciplined wayward children without threats of lawsuits or incarceration. Youngsters mostly left the family home as soon as they were able to do so. Some went to college; some had vocations.

Fast forward to the era of FDR and the New Deal. Still you had people with a work ethic, but no jobs. Families still had dinner together with what food they could scrape together. Children were still disciplined and left home when they were old enough.

Then, we get the 60s,the era of free love, drugs, and the beginning of the entitlement era. God was told to “hit the road, Jack,” and He, being ever the gentleman, won’t stay where He’s not wanted. Bibles were removed from schools, and schools redoubled their efforts to indoctrinate the children. Home began to split apart, and more and more women went to work There were those, however, who learned to game the system and realized that they could get money without lifting a finger.

Fifty years later, we have nearly half of the country living on handouts (something our grandparents wouldn’t even have considered); parents and schools can no longer discipline children, so they run wild; what jobs are left are given to the illegals. But why work when you get free money? No one eats at home anymore; fast food restaurants are ubiquitous and successful. Church attendance is dwindling, and lasciviousness is the order of the day. Morals and morality are a thing of the past.

So, yeah, I’d say there’s reason to be anxious. Those we elect to get the job done, aren’t. They have abdicated their authority, and it’s time to throw them out and start over.

Sorry this is so long. I’m not usually this wordy, but I’ve had it with the lefties. If their goal is to destroy this country, they’re doing a fine job of it.

The “American Dream” isn’t defined by how rich you can get, but how comfortable you can live.

Those damn middle class hippies. This is why Republicans from Nixon on have been out to destroy the middle class — because people who can afford to have time on their hands become “ungodly” and speak out against the government. Oh and they might have sex in the streets.

Seriously Skye? God is not the problem nor the solution. There are more people today who profess their faith in a “God” than ever before and STILL look where we are at.

What IS different today is the fact that we are exponentially more technological than all of the previous periods of human existence combined. In those days of old, our “world” consisted of the region or town we lived in and that was about it. Everything outside that world was “worlds away” and any news that came from outside was usually days, weeks or months late. Today, I can click a button here and convey my thoughts instantly to you and everyone else in the furthest areas of the world. I can click another button here and talk face-to-face with someone in Afghanistan, just as easily as I can with my neighbor next door.

It’s funny, I remember my parents railing about how much better things were “way back when” and how things were “going to hell in a handbasket” with the younger generation. Well, WE’VE become our parents and WE pine for those old days with the same complaints that our parents had.

Change is hard to accept for some people — especially Conservative people.

    Thank you.

It wasn’t unexpected. My father has been having health problems all year. Fractured a vertebra last winter. (For the second time), then a month after he got out of the hospital he fell and broke his hip. He was in the hospital and rehab for another 2 months and escaped went over the wall came home in may.

He couldn’t walk and was very weak and forced to use a wheelchair. He also had a bad heart. We had scheduled both him and my mom to go into an assisted living place on a Monday. The Friday before he decided to stop talking his assorted medications other than for pain. Everyone came up to see him and I was over there off and on over the weekend. (My brother & sister were there with my sister living moving in for a few days. We’re all local)

My wife, who works way to many hours and had only been able to see him once since she came back from China had planned to go with me on Wednesday to see him. Sometime between 2am and 6am Wednesday morning, he moved on.

My wife was an absolute wreck. She lost her father 8 years ago and my father made her very welcome when she came to the United States. He told her to consider him her American Father.

The funeral was very different from any she has experienced. She was crying all through the wake, was able to hold it together for the funeral mass, broke down right afterwards and was a basket case for the burial.

At least my father didn’t see what that twerp Roberts did.

    Thanks again all.

As Barack has so forcibly said, the lessons of his Communist Mentor, Saul Alinsky, “Are seared into my brain.” We took a Man-Child who has never navigated the transition to adulthood; but, had acquired the skills of deception and reading from his ever-present teleprompters; and, unwittingly elevated him to the highest office in our land in-spite of his total void of sustainative accomplishment. Barack, you beguiled us once; but, the mask is now off of our National disgrace, and you can no-longer peddle your pathetic excuses to a center-right America. Once there was Dumb and Dumber. Now there is Dumbest.

    Meet Mensa Joe Biden.

Incredibly, Biden said something possibly more stupid than anything he has ever said. Sure, it’s a long list, but check this out:

“[Romney believes] somehow, that those so-called job creators will make everything okay for the rest of us. We believe that the way to build this country is the way we always have, from the middle out … [to] invest in the things that have always made our economy grow: innovation, research, development, infrastructure, and education.”

Job creators don’t build this country?

Yup, that’s what he said. But, Mensa Joe, what does build the United States?

Try this; at the National Education Association conference, Biden continued by saying that government spending works if there’s a “a tax system where everybody, everybody, pays their fair share.” Then he attacked the wealthy, saying “nothing has been asked of them in this horrendous recession.”

So, let me get this straight. More government spending is what helps build this country. But where is the money going to come from, Mensa Joe, if not from job creators who succeed and then get ripped off by the government in higher taxes? How ya gonna bleed people dry if job creators are savaged? And if there are higher taxes, what incentive does anyone have to work hard so you can steal from them later? Explain to me, Mensa Joe.

    Hmmm.

What? This was just a class warfare attack that doesn’t have an ounce of logic in it? But Mensa Joe, I thought this Administration was about uniting Americans.

    Or not.

The “the pendulum swings back and forth” argument that liberal fascists always use to calm the plebeians down has one critical fault, and that is that the “pendulum” is attached to a ratchet that only ever seems to be able to go in one direction. Sure, the pendulum occasionally swings to the right and sure, the tolerances in it aren’t all that tight so it may at times seem as if the ratchet is moving ever so slightly in the opposite direction, but it only ever clicks in one direction.
