Suddenly the Washington Compost of the Ogabe Stenography Pool Discovers Religion
Mind you, those are the same cock-slurping journaljizzm hacks who, for years, found absolutely no reason to link religion to anything.
As long as that religion happens to be pisslam, that is.
But now Der Fubar is in trouble, an election is coming up, and all stops must be pulled in order to destroy his vile, heretic opponents (h/t Ace):
CARROLLTON, Ark. — On the wildflower-studded slopes of the Ozarks, where memories run long and family ties run thick, a little-known and long-ago chapter of history still simmers.
And it would have simmered still, had it not been for the Ogabe Stenography Pool’s Prime Directive which is to do anything, anything to protect their beloved Fubar and to keep anybody from talking about his abysmal record.
On Sept. 11, 1857,
Very recent memory, as opposed to Der Fubar’s hijinx as a young muslim madrassah student in Indonesia, his trips to Pock-e-stahn and 20 years in Jeremiah Wrong’s racist “church”, which never happened. And if they did, it’s enormously irrelevant and just… SHUT UP! RACIST!
a wagon train from this part of Arkansas met with a gruesome fate in Utah, where most of the travelers were slaughtered by a Mormon militia in an episode known as the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Hundreds of the victims’ descendants still populate these hills and commemorate the killings, which they have come to call “the first 9/11.”
And “the first 9/11?”
Putting aside for the nonce our Imperial Wrath at having anybody, anywhere, compare anything to 9/11 and relegating it to the status of side show since it wasn’t the “first” one, and our wrath is strong on that issue but we fear that we’d end up writing 48 full pages of invective just to make up the preamble to our screed, we’d very much like some actual sources for that claim. Sources more credible that the Washington OgabePost, which isn’t a terribly high bar to cross. Any random panhandler with a cardboard sign, a loon picked up in the desert outside Area 51, even Sasquatch would do.
And the slaughter of a wagon train? Really? Not to dismiss the gruesomeness of such an act, but we guess that that means we can forever forget to run for office as such slaughter would, to our Imperial Viking Ancestors, be what they’d call a minor disagreement, a slight skirmish or even “what the Hel do we do to pass time until supper?”
At any rate, it hardly compares to the murder of 3,000 innocents using civilian airplanes as cruise missiles.
Many of the locals grew up hearing denunciations of Mormonism from the pulpit on Sundays, and tales of the massacre from older relatives who considered Mormons “evil.”
Do you know who else is a Mormon? Mitt Romney is, that’s who.
Gradually one starts to understand why a 155 year old story suddenly is Headline News according to the Washington Beobachter.
There aren’t many places in America more likely to be suspicious of Mormonism — and potentially more problematic for Mitt Romney, who is seeking to become the country’s first Mormon president. Not only do many here retain a personal antipathy toward the religion and its followers, but they also tend to be Christian evangelicals, many of whom view Mormonism as a cult.
Odd. Because we’re a Christian evangelical, yet we don’t, in spite of our skepticism regarding Mormonism (we wouldn’t be much of a Christian evangelical if we didn’t feel that way. We’d be an Episcopalian, Bible Optional, or some-such), recall having ever wondered or even worried about Mittens starting a nation-wide massacre of our kind based on something that happened 155 years ago.
And keep in mind that we’re of European birth. You think YOU have long memories? We still bear grudges based on stuff that happened a millennium ago. Heck, sometimes we don’t even remember what actually happened, but we still know that we’re supposed to bear a grudge, so we do. We’re funny that way. Most of the time, though, we do remember. An example: We’re still mistrustful when it comes to Swedes. This was because they once attacked us and beat our asses in a war. In 1658. We’re still pissed off about that.
Just in case anybody starts saying that we “don’t understand grudges.”
But you still don’t see it plastered across newspapers over there.
And yet, there is scant evidence that Romney’s religion is making much difference in how voters here are thinking about the presidential election and whether they are willing to back the former Massachusetts governor.
“I think the situation right now is more anti-Obama than any other situation,” said Dave Hoover, chairman of the Carroll County Republicans.
So what, exactly, is the Washington Stürmer trying to tell us here? That it matters or that it doesn’t matter?
Oh wait, we think we got it: They’re saying that it should matter without actually saying so. They’re just “asking questions.”
Which is great. Particularly considering how they adamantly refused to ask any questions whatsoever about the idiotic, lying, socialist clown who is currently president because they were too damn busy sending their entire staff to Wasilla, Alaska, to find out if Sarah Palin was ever late on returning a library book.
But there is no liberal bias in the media whatsoever. Nosirree. That’s just RACIST to even suggest!
How about we just hang the whole sorry lot of them and let the crows feed on their eyeballs? We’ll be happy to throw a couple sestertii in to pay for the massive amounts of rope needed.
We kept saying that while the GOP nomination was up for grabs, that the OgabeMedia would focus intensely on Mittens’ Mormonism, something that most sane people don’t give a shit about, should he become the nominee.
But we were just nuts. They would never stoop that low, we should never bother with such things.
We’re getting Imperially sick and tired of being right all the time.
Almost as tired as we’ve been for a long time of watching fools and idiots ignoring every single word we say because, even though we have a lifetime of actual EXPERIENCE with socialists, first-hand and all that, we’re really just a delusional wingnut because, don’t you know, this nation is DIFF’RUNT. The Germans felt the same way, and look how well that worked out for them from 1933 to 1945. “It can never happen here”… Until it does. And it’s happening.
Yes, we’re different in a lot of ways, which is why we’re proud and honored to be a citizen of this nation, but when it comes to human nature we’re just as stupid as everybody else.
But keep Fluking that Chicken because, hey, what do WE know?
Thatisall.
P.S.: (Because His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Misha I, is never really done when he says it is as you all know by now), at least the OgabeMedia, as always, in launching yet another retarded attack, has managed to bare their throats to us. If something that some co-religionists of Romney’s did a century and a half ago is suddenly relevant, then surely Ogabe’s youth as a muslim and years in Jeremiah’s church must be relevant too, no? After all, Ogabe was actually alive when those things happened. Normally we couldn’t care less which school a six-year-old was forced to attend, it’s not like you have a choice in that matter at that age, but now that ball is in play. Let’s roll.

Senator Dirty, Dingy, Dusty, Ragged Rotten, Rusty (thanks, Oscar) Harry Screed is a Mormon He must be destroyed!!! Right, Composters?
OK, so religious bigotry is acceptable as long as the person is a member of the LDS. Unless s/he’s a Democrat in which case they are to be accepted. I swear that if political correctness was a computer program, it would fill up a 1TB hard drive in a week with all the patches and updates.
(OK, side note to the Rotties. Is “Mormon” an acceptable term? I’ve heard both that it is and that it’s an insult. I’d like to hear an opinion from someone who is part of that church.)
You gotta love the standard ‘problematic‘ meme. It’s almost as useful as ‘some say’ in creating a narrative.

The Obama campaign (disingenuously) put discussion of Romney’s religion “out of bounds” which was a clear signal to his media goons to start hacking away.
Another story on the LDS by royal court stenographer Jodi Kantor
Yeah Romney got a lot of deference(not) by not tying the corrupt, lying, marxist , anti-American, non-christian in the Whitehouse to his marxist, Anti-American, non-christian former pastor. Hey Jody when are we gonna a get an expose on the Black Liberation Theology that this pResident has systematically advanced from day one.
I won’t hold my breath. It is beyond dispute that the MSM are partisan whores any who try to argue differently are seeking the same goal as the pResident. The total eradication of the rule of law that make us a free people in favor of societal bondage.
The term “Mormon” is fine. “Latter Day Saint” is a mouthful.
Having lived in Utah for several years, I can attest to a BIT of prejudice on the part of the Mormons there…not only against non-Mormons, but against Mormons whose families did not come across the prairie in a handcart. But that was ONLY in small towns and ONLY isolated individuals…mostly. It was generally more difficult to get a job if you weren’t LDS, and there were people who simply wouldn’t associate with you if you weren’t an active Mormon.
Outside Utah, it’s substantially different. The people are ALMOST ALWAYS industrious, well-adjusted, and great members of the community. In fact, when they announced the lifting of the proscriptions on blacks being permitted to receive the higher priesthood, it was considered a very positive move by the church members and actually celebrated.
I’m not what you would call “Anti-Mormon” by any stretch; I’m “non-Mormon” and actually “non-Christian” but I regard the Mormons I know as pretty much all decent people. This massacre was a dark spot on the history of the west, but considering the political climate of the time, Mormons in Utah had to pretty much consider themselves almost an endangered species. They did a movie about it and I think Jon Voigt was in it, and it was pretty accurate but had a lot of speculation. They executed one person by firing squad for the crime. I halfway expect that movie to be aired if the Obots catch wind of it.
Mark12A @ 5: I would agree with that characterization. I’ve had both Mormon coworkers and a Mormon boss in the past, and they all struck me as decent folks…perhaps more strongly interested in making lots of children than most people, but, hell, everyone needs a hobby.
My ex-wife has Mormon relatives, and they were some of the people she trusted the most, particularly in crisis situations.
Of course, that doesn’t mean I’d want to go off and live in SLC, but I have no qualms with staying there overnight, which my fiancee and I did a couple of times as part of a road trip to Sacramento (actually, once in SLC, once in Provo near BYU).
So I don’t see any particular reason to criticize Mittens about being Mormon. Better to criticize him about being a squishy RINO…but that still puts him light-years ahead of Hussein al-Chicago.
I have met a number of Mormons in my life, one of whom is a close friend. To a person, they have been great people; caring, considerate and successful people who would lend help whenever needed with no thought of themselves. Very self-reliant and well-grounded.
I can see why that would really piss off the progressives.

FX, the mediawhores think they are fooling folks. But, if I recall correctly, the last poll I read indicated over 60% of US adults believe that the media is biased towards the left. The media, of course, cannot believe that the country could possibly believe that. After all, who are the great unwashed going to believe: the media whores or their own lying eyes?
LC FX Phillips says:
Why must you insult whores? At least they serve a purpose.
Mark12A @ #:5
Considering how they were treated in Illinois and Missouri, I don’t blame them a bit for being violently distrustful of non-Mormons. Even though it was Henry Kissenger who first said it, it could very well have been Mormons who said, “Just because you are paranoid, it doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.”
Yeah, LC, IIRC this little dust up was shortly after the governors of AK and Mo had set their malitias on the Mormans in their states; which was why the surviving Mormans left those states for the Utah Territory.
That is precisely why this
news storyfear mongering hack job was written.Honestly, this entire election has never been about religion. If it were Obumfuck’s ties to the
peaceful, sereneviolent, murderous religion of pisslam would be front and center of every argument on every nonMSM news outlet. The common theme, though, is that Obumfuck is a socialist trying to do what socialists do. Most Americans (and by Americans I mean honest, hardworking people not the welfare parasite and hippies) are not overly fond of socialism when they recognize it as such.Misinformation, obfuscation, and outright lies are the tools that will be used in this election cycle. Mormonism isn’t the issue and never was, but we all knew that. Obumfuck’s miserable record is the issue at hand so when all else fails SIN

When was the last time we saw Mormons setting off carbombs or flying hijacked airliners into skyscrapers? OH, WAIT, that’s a reference to B. Hussein Øbama’s religion, islam, so does that make me waaaycist? I HOPE SO!
Yup, I can understand this completely, as my ancestry is English/Welsh/Irish/Scottish/German/Czech, so I’m deeply ashamed of what My People did to My Other People! (Altho I usually condense my ancestry to Czech-Texican!)
