Sleepy Saturday Open Thread

Not feeling up to anything these days, really, but the very least I can do is to throw up an Open Thread for all of the stuff YOU might want to talk about.

Normal services will resume whenever G-d wills it.

    How’s this?

    Obama’s Enemies List

Businessman Frank Vandersloot, the CEO of Melaleuca, has been targeted by the Obama campaign after donating money to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign. “Three weeks ago, an Obama campaign website, ‘Keeping GOP Honest,’ took the extraordinary step of publicly naming and assailing eight private citizens backing Mr. Romney,” Kim Strassel of the Wall Street Journal reported.

“Titled ‘Behind the curtain: a brief history of Romney’s donors,’ the post accused [sic] the eight of being ‘wealthy individuals with less-than-reputable records.’ Mr. VanderSloot was one of the eight, smeared particularly as being ‘litigious, combative and a bitter foe of the gay rights movement.’”

The attacks are working. Vandersloot revealed in an interview on Fox News that his business practice is being hurt by the attacks from the Obama team.

“Those people that I know well weren’t affected by this [attack],” said Vandersloot. “But for people who didn’t know me, who are members of our business or customers, and they were reading this, then we got a barrage of phone calls of people cancelling their customer memberships with us.”

“Really?,” the Fox News host asked. “How many did that?”

“A couple hundred that we can track,” Vandersloot replied.

Again, the host asked, “Really? Do you have any grounds to sue?”

“I suppose we do,” Vandersloot said. The businessman says he’s been accused of being anti-gay, an accusation he says that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Actually, his wife is in favor of Normal Marriage, a scandalous thing, to be sure.

Yeah I saw that list of the so called public enemies. I thought it was missing a few people.

Perhaps like Warren Buffet who apparently thinks he has paid enough in taxes as he fights a 1 billion dollar assessment that as of this moment has been going on for a decade. Funny according to Sheriff Joe paying high taxes is a patriotic duty . Since his auditors have made the assertion that he is “more likely than not”(an accounting term of art) it would seem clear that he is guilty of underpaying his taxes. Not adding to Obama’s vote buying stash is certainly worse than being “combative and litigious”.

Also missing was Hollywood martinet(or is that marionette) Jeffrey Katzenberg, who co hosted that clueless, automaton George Clooney’s, coming out party for BO last week. Apparently he has some problems with the SEC.on a deal with a Chinese company. Hmmm Chinese as I recall a couple of the guys on the presidents hit list did something similar. But, of course you can stay off the bad list when you shake down the mindless lemmings of the Hollywood illiterati for $15 million.

Or how about we take the strange case of George Kaiser(Solyndra) who got a government loan for a company that had a NEGATIVE gross profit margin i.e it cost more to produce each unit than they could actually sell it for on the order of it cost twice as much to make as they could sell them. And then had the deal reworked so that the owners of this money pit got would be able to mitigate their losses while the taxpayer was left holding a half a billion dollar bag. Funny if you support Romney and do thing like “outsource” because of confiscatory taxes and onerous regulation you are enemy of the people. Of course if you actually rip the people off…

You would think that politically active political felons might be on the list too, like ,say George Soros who was convicted of securities fraud in Europe and is suspected of crashing 3 or 4 economies by shorting their currencies and then making his dreams come true by bad mouthing those economies. There is much speculation that he would like to do that here. Funny how if you’re a Democratic sugar daddy you get a pass on betting against America. According to the pResident speculators are the worst form of evil unless your funding the “altruistic” intentions of a a benevolent despot wanna be.

Of course Mr Soros could get his wish if the former front runner to be the replacement for the smarmy, economically illiterate guttersnipe Turbo Tax Timmy Geithner as treasury secretary , John Corzine, hadn’t crashed MF Global and misappropriated a billion dollars in segregated customer funds, a definite no-no. Is Mr Corzine vilified as a rapacious defiler of the people. Silly person of course not. He is praised with hosannas and hand springs as a top blunder for the tin pot thug in chief.

Understand this. By naming names and implying that they have committed some “crime” the President is also implying that he will use the power of the state to exact vengeance upon them. With the way the laws work now they can trump up any charge and force you to expend millions of dollars defending yourself while feeding a sycophantic press all kinds of dubious information to destroy you in the court of public opinion. The fact that it is selective makes the abuse of power all that much more egregious.

Lenin said that the law should be used as a political weapon. This regime has taken that to heart as the they try and replicate Chavez’s Bolivaran revolution here.

In honor of mudders everywhere and those valiant, true men that love and support them (yeah, I know there is the other that under rock kind that abandons their duties but we just want to shoot those) may you and you spouse enjoy quality time together this day and go honor your mudders, as you would not be here without them. No politics today, I need a rest from the insane asylum.

I read this and sighed, or smiled. Strikes me as bizarre, here in this state we have huge off shore oil deposits, lots of natural gas here in the Central Valley………..and nobody is going after it. Now if you are an illegal help is available. I watch in this small town of Dog Patch schools being decimated……..and now they will drive what wealth remains to Nevada, a much friendlier state…….and an easy commute for trucks and their products. It is only when the wealthy Marin County type libs are hurt, the eco-freaks are hurt, then this may change. But for Gods sake, do not invest here……..
Being an evil capitalist sort, taking my risks and reaping my rewards, my portfolio is not invested here in any form. One lefty type, his head visibly expanding, asked how I could possibly invest in Bank of America, or mutual funds, money markets…………I asked him if he had ever heard of a put option……..you cover your bets both ways. I then asked him if he had ever heard the term cold, hard, cash. He had not. Silver and gold, physical. not paper, not with the massive naked shorts being sold. As for what I have done…..
    I was asked once..
    “What’s in your gun safe?”
    “Guns.”
    “Why?”
“Well, I fugure it’s my civic duty tho share wealth with the maggots, grasshoppers, sponges and parasites, thought I’d share some precious metals with ‘em. Like copper and lead.”
He doesn’t like me I don’t think. Don’t suppose the copy of Guns & Ammo on the desk helped much either…….
When one reads history, and I do, a lot, you note patterns. Yes, the rich families are dirtbags, and your point is?
I seek to help and look after my family, friends and like mined, liberty loving souls…..the rest can rot on the vine.
    Silver, gold, lead and copper……..

In other news, looks like I’m getting shipped out to Iwakuni as soon as I finish up ordy school. The parents aren’t going to be thrilled with the ten-hour time difference, but Japan is the one duty station I really wanted, and Iwakuni beats the crap out of Okinawa from what I’ve heard: The people are much nicer, and you’re actually on the mainland instead of a little(er) island out in the middle of nowhere (I had no idea Okinawa was several hundred miles south of the main portion of Japan until I pulled up a map yesterday), so it’s possible to do a little touristing while you’re there.

Sooo… if anyone has any tips for Marine life in Japan, or just overseas in general, I wouldn’t mind hearing them. Hm, I wonder if my ballot this year will get counted…

If you get up to Yokosuka on the outskirts of Tokyo be sure and pay a visit to the e-club there. The facility was once a Japanese Imperial Navy officers’ club and it’s a sort of tradition for US enlisted to visit the place and slop down savor a martini or two. At least it was back in the Dark Ages when I was there. Oh, and don’t be too down on Okinawa. You’d be surprised at what you can get with a just a few bucks mere steps from the gates of Camp Hansen… and it wasn’t a bad steak either.

Ran into a local Constable today. He told me about the Russian military advisers training OUR troops for Our control and capture, and also that they are being instructed on security and KGB interrogation techniques we are to experience after being interned at the FEMA camps on all of Our army posts. This will take place when Obama signs his first crop of executive orders after the Demoncrats steal the election.
The plan is to clear us from Our homes and return us there to be slaughtered by the inner city lowlife after all of Our weapons and other contraband the government does not want us to have are confiscated.
In closing I offer only this quote.

    Jaw, meet floor.

Do they think this will HELP him? Yeah, they probably do. In the Hive Mind, it will. Outside the hive, it will make him an even greater object of ridicule.

The funniest part is that he actually IS gay, not just figuratively, like his sycophants, lickspittles, and toadies claim. (They really should give the nod to James Buchanan as the first queer President, but let’s not pick nits.)
