Rick Santorum had a big, BIG night yesterday and before the night was over, everybody and their fuckin’ brother was sharpening their knives for him.

Even the most skeptical person I know (me) didn’t think he could pull off even one victory in the Triple Lolapalooza of Minnesota, Colorado and Missouri. I expected a good showing in Missouri due to it’s position in the Bible Belt. But win BIG….no way. Colorado should have been a cakewalk for Mittens to win and perhaps a strong 2nd place by Newt or Luap Nor with his Zombie’s expertise at corrupting caucuses. Pawlenty is a very popular governor by all accounts, yet the fact he could not deliver Minnesota for his pal is significant. That Santorum won here is amazing with decks stacked against him. The media is squawking too, I’m listening to Fox right now and a talking-head is doing his best to downplay the election/caucuses as only a ‘Beauty Contest’. My only response to that is this was bound to happen to Romney sooner or later. There was no way he could have continued to spend like he did in Florida as well as work the massive senior vote to pull off a bought and paid for win.

I can only draw one conclusion here, despite the talking-heads ‘splaining it all away. The Social Conservatives have become engaged fully. The flip-side to this, is that Newt is toast. He placed fourth well behind ever Luap Nor in Missouri and even worse in Minnesota.

We can’t discount the fact that these are first primaries after 0gabe decided to declare war on the Roman Catholics and by extension Christians as well with his ferociously anti-Constitutional health-care diktat. The response to that was immediate and is growing rapidly. This issue is going to SCOTUS without doubt and considering that should Obelini get re-elected he’ll have a very good chance at appointing as many as 3 new justices to the bench. Does anyone expect him to appoint someone to the right of the reprehensible lump of twat mold, anti-America and openly traitorous Ginsbitch? Yet another reason why no matter who has the main event, we MUST show and vote down ticket to a least give our side the Senate. There is no doubt in my mind that this issue just might be the turning point in the general elections. If whoever our candidate is, doesn’t ride this every single fucking day, he’s a damn fool.

Santorum attacks from every quarter are beginning. I think Rick will make an excellent showing of his resolve dealing with this shit, he’s pretty feisty already and will get better.

Bottom line last night is that Rick got a huge boost, Newster got dumpsterized and Luap got even more irrelevant as he should. Clearly the social conseratives are engaged finally, with Santorum, a strong, real conservative as their natural choice, and Mittens better damn-well watch his 6. Newt has pretty much come to the end of the line, but I seriously doubt we’ll see him bow out.

Folks, I think we have us a new ballgame here, with mo’ bettah’ conservative values up to bat.

The “not Romney” vote was a big winner last night. Can’t see why Newt cannot read the tea leaves and go home. It won’t coalesce around Newt.

Consolidate the “not Romney” and Santorum sails to nomination.

Perhaps the Newtster bails and throws his support to Santorum. Things that make you wanna say, “Hmmm.”

LC Gladiator says:

Santourum / Perry ??

Will never happen.

First , Perry has proven he can’t walk and chew bubblegum at the same time.

Second, the Republicans don’t want to spend every night leading up to the election listening to the late night guys make jokes about their VP candidate.

Third, I forget what third was.

The results from last night also spoke another message (at least to me) very clearly: the nominal Republican party leadership that has been trying to engineer Romney’s nomination has lost all control over the political future of conservatism in America. This is a very good thing. The political calculus of reading the morning polls and jockeying for approval must be… Read more »

LC Gladiator says: Santorum/Rubio ?? Santourum /Bachmann ?? Santourum / Perry ?? Bolton/Rubio maybe???? God I wish any of your tickets would happen man, but Santorum took states with marginal delegate counts. Romney will most likely sweep the Northeast and the Rust belt states like Michigan and Ohio, and to placate the second place guy and hopefully bring us grassroots/tea… Read more »

What is with Obama’s sudden war on Christianity anyway… Actually what is it with Leftism’s blatant HATRED of the religion? I mean anytime I say “I’m Christian” around a liberal, I get a flurry of attacks and vitriolic hatred for it. Anyway… I don’t care for Santorum, I really don’t. But I’ll take him over Romney any day of the… Read more »

I have nothing against Governor Perry. He’s a harmless good old boy. I am just fascinated with the political naivete of folks who think he has a future in national politics following his incredible dismal recent showing. Hey the dude started with a vacum ready to be filled, plenty of money, and a media that took him very seriously. Then… Read more »

Duke Wayne says: Based on what ? That everything you think about the man is based on his debate performance? That’s intellectually dishonest and you know it. Now, now. Calling somebody “intellectually dishonest” presupposes the presence of an actual intellect in the individual that you’re bringing the charge against. You know better than that. Duke wants somebody who looks pretty… Read more »

Dudes:

The guy got less votes than Buddy Roemer! Then after two primaries he went running back home with his tail between his legs. Does the phrase “Epic Fail” mean anything to you?

Its like you’re trying to argue that the Cowboys had a good season.

Duke Wayne @ #: Actually I think Misha is arguing that Presidential Elections should not be like Football games, American Idol competitions or some sort of high school popularity contest. One can be a smart guy, a good leader and perfectly qualified for the job, yet not be the best debater, look the prettiest, or appeal to people with short… Read more »

Actually, that should read fewer votes, but grammar nitpick aside…just because he didn’t do well this time doesn’t mean he won’t do well next time. After all, Mittens went down in flames last time to McSame, and look what happened.
