For Once, He Just May Be Honest

“I don’t care about the poor, they already have a safety net.”

Thus spake Mittens “Inevitable” RomneyCare and from that sentence, a million DNC ads were cut.

Heckuva Job, Mitty!

No, His Majesty doesn’t really give a fig about “context” here, because it’s not going to matter a fig to the wall-to-wall propagandists of the LeftStream Media from the moment Mittens Thurston Howell III clutches the nomination in his perfectly manicured plastic hands onwards, and if you think otherwise, then you need therapy. Or at the very least explain to us which planet you’ve been living on for those past, we don’t know, 40 years or so.

And believe you us: The ones who will decide this election, the mush-headed “moderates”, will get that message loud and clear because it’s the only message they’ll be hearing. Context, in this case, matters not at all, because nobody except for those of us who wouldn’t dream of voting for Ogabe anyway will even know that there is one.

Oh, and for bonus points: His “context” is wrong too.

Saying “not to worry, they got their food stamps and welfare checks” ISN’T, no matter how much you try to spin it, a conservative point of view. Saying “it will be my first priority to do everything I can to expand and encourage the economy so that the poor without a job can get one and those who already have one will be able to get one that pays better” IS, on the other hand, exactly what conservatism is all about.

We don’t throw fishes at the starving poor. We teach them to FISH. The former is the standard socialist statist claptrap that the leftists have been carping about for decades, so it really is no surprise that Mittens RomneyCare keeps singing from the same hymnal. It’s the only one he truly knows. His current faux conservatism, on the other hand, is only what he’s been able to pick up on the fly, so all you’re really seeing is a trained seal trying to show a new trick when he tries to appear “conservative.”

And this is the clown that the RINOcracy calls “inevitable” and keeps telling us the “only one who can beat Obama?”

He’s already got more self-inflicted wounds than a horny hedgehog on Viagra and meth and his enemies haven’t even gotten started on him.

Come back and tell us how that worked out for you in November, will you, Cocktail Party?

Thatisall.

I’ve always found that phrase “social safety net” particularly galling since it’s such a boldfaced crock of shit.

Of course it comes from the same people who called racial hiring quotas and lowered standards “affirmative action” and the wholesale factory style slaughter of babies in the womb “reproductive freedom”.

How can anybody take Willard seriously after this bit of thumb sucking asshattery.

ROMNEY TRIES TO CUT OFF NEWTS SUPERPAC FUNDING

He throws all manner of shit at his opponents then has his itty bitty feeewing huwt when he gets some back. What the fuck is gonna do when the unscrupulous and dishonest DNC and their third world tyrant wanna be starts hanging every purported sin of any one remotely associated with him around his neck. He won’t even assert the plain fact that the depravity being engaged in by Obama and his cohort is intentional and not just the floundering of a man in over his head.

To Willard grow a pair and call Obama by his right name: A lawless ant-American enemy of the American people who is looking to turn this country into a 3rd world banana republic and mean it then maybe just maybe you might get some enthusiastic support. The idea that you are going to win any plaudit(let alone the Presidency) but being a gracious loser by allowing the enemy to determine the parameters of your discourse is delusional. That doesn’t mean misrepresent the facts as you have done in the primary just be honest about the destructive nature of the NDSWP program and their clear as day antipathy to equality of opportunity and make it plain as day that the NDWSP is a party that is motivated by hatred and envy.

That their limited cognitive abilities can only imagine society as a zero sum game and does not allow them to imagine that this country was built on consensual transactions that benefited both parties to the deal. This is known as win-win. This is the platform that needs to be promoted. A consensual society that eschews reliance on a know-it-all, busy body third party passing judgement on whether THEY think someone got ripped off(paraphrase of Dr T Sowell.). This is the height of conceit and needs to be consigned to the dust bin of history with the rest of the authoritarian/statist/socialist liturgy

Don’t give that scurrilous son of bitch Obama an out with the incompetence excuse. He has surrounded himself with a vanguard of socialist thinkers who are anything but stupid. Obama is just the face man of this con game. The brains are found among his czars and at the progressive “think” tank, Center for American “Progress”.

But then again that is a hard sell considering his Romneycare, anti second amendment, I’m not a Reagan conservative, government has all the answers record.

The more this circus continues the more I agree with Deej’s theory about the GOP long game, that romney is just a placeholder until a real candidate runs in 2016. I would hope that candidate would be someone like Bolton or JIndal or Christie or West or Rubio.

My biggest concern is that most of the time/money/PR is being spent on this clustercuss called a primary season, and I fear that the effort to increase the house majority and retaking the senate that will suffer as a result. If we don’t consolidate and increase the gains there, and they fall to the socialist party and obama wins another term…..then kiss your guns and your money and your freedoms goodbye, as I believe that there will be at least two Supreme Court vacancies in the next 4 years.

we need to make sure that we have the muscle in the House (by also kicking out Boehner from the leadership) and in the Senate to counter the bastard in the White House

Fuck you Fuckmuzzle. There are quite a few of us out here that think that’s a superb idea. The fact that we lost political will in the middle of the Apollo program and that a permanent base was not only feasible in the mid-70′s but would have been easy to accomplish. Pricey to rebuild a trans-lunar program? Sure is, but having a serious manned space exploration program is something that is deep in the American psyche for those of us that literally grew up with the space program from the beginning.

Some of the greatest technological discoveries on the planet came directly from space programs, and more would certainly come should be decide to rebuild and move forward again.

I weep that America has to pay the Russkies to get men in low-earth orbit.

We need to rebuild the manned program and the 1st task to the stars would be a moon base.

I grew up hoping for the vision of our space program that I saw in the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Now i watch that movie and it just saddens me how we’ve let that vision cloud over…..so many opportunities, so much technology, so many jobs.

There is something almost criminal that we now pay cab fare to the same guys we beat to the moon in the first place…..and they still can’t perfect soft landings. So many pharmaceutical and medical breakthroughs came through our exploration of space and the experiments conducted there…..I guess with the new healthcare rationing that will be in place soon, we no longer need medical breakthroughs to cure diseases….like president uhhhhhbama says: “take a pain pill and go home”

I believe that a return to creating THE preeminent manned space program on Earth is one of the BEST ways of spending tax dollars. It would provide thousands of high paying jobs, and perhaps even more importantly, revive a sense of exceptional-ism that this country has lost over the last twenty years or so.

The return on Space investments has been estimated as at least $6.00 on every dollar spent; what other industry can you say that about?

I will go even further and contend that just about every breakthrough in every industry in the last 50 years has come either directly or indirectly from the space program. Some of those ties are not noticeable until you realize that many of those achievements couldn’t have been accomplished without the support technology that came out of the space program. Advancements in computer technology;material advancements such as Teflon and Carbon Fiber materials;not to mention super-cooled technology, are but a few examples.

As for me, I would love to volunteer to be one of the first to truly colonize the Moon and help advance our progress out to the outer planets.

The naysayers said we would never get to the moon, too. Maybe in the UK it would take decades, but we have the technology and knowledge already. I, like JB and Jaybear, and many others, continue to be fascinated by all things space-related.

Both JB’s…what pisses me off most is that the poseur-in-chief abandoned our guys in the ISS to the inferior capabilities of the Russians.

Moon my ass, let us start with a viable Earth Orbit capability. That could be done a very little Public cost by just getting NASA and the FAA’s boots off of the neck of private companies that are now trying desperatly to get into Space.

Once we are viable to Earth Orbit as Robert Heinlein said “We are halfway to anywhere” then we can talk about where to go next!

This can be done cheaply to the Government and produce many jobs! What is stopping it now is, you guessed it, Government Regulations! :em08:

A moonbase is a second or third priority…first, you’d have to have a permanent presence in orbit. Once you’re in orbit, you’re halfway to anywhere in the universe. A lunar orbital facility…also permanently manned…would be second. Once we’re established in those two orbits, the solar system is ours. Next step…mining the fantastically rich LaGrange Points and the asteroid belts. It’s all within our reach, but if we don’t have the vision we’ll never, ever be able to get back. Let’s face it…the smarts to do it is dying off and will take generations before it’s available again.

Find yourself a copy of Jerry Pournelle’s “A Step Farther Out”. I got one and handed it to my congressional representative, who’s also on the science and technology subcommittee. I hope he has the wit to read it and get a glimmer of what’s possible…what’s in our grasp right now.

If anyone is ignorant enough to come back with, “we went to the moon and all we got was a bunch of rocks”, please keep your idiocy to yourself since you’re obviously not capable of intelligent thought and probably need a keeper. Maybe Newt is a steaming turd, but he damned sure has vision with a capital V.

I would add the works of G. Harry Stine, “The Space Enterprise” and “Colonies in Space” to Pournelle. I would also note the advantages of being at the top of a gravity well. Kinetic Energy = 1/2 Mass times the Velocity squared. Acceleration in earth’s gravity = 32 feet per second every second. It is on average 237,087 miles from the earth to the moon, which means quite a significant cosmic love pat on impact. There are reasons to be there.

That implies a certain foresight and will on the part of the Institutional Republican Party. I do not think that they intend to win, ever. They are quite happy to be the remoras attached to the Democrat shark, living quite well on the scraps. Since the TEA Party won the House for them, they have been deliberately losing at every encounter. Electoral dynamics make it likely that the Institutionals will gain a Senate majority whether they want it or not. If they get the presidency, they will have absolutely no excuse to not try to fix things. And that is the very last thing that they want to do. It would break their iron rice bowls.
