disrupting the veterans’ ceremony by shooing them out of the way because they were ruining the shot. After all, CBS had by gum rented that cemetery for the day so, you know, go play somewhere else.

No, we have no words, really. Other than to urge you to put anything throwable away before clicking over.

Wow. That really, really, really pisses me off. But it does not surprise me.

Anybody want to take a guess as to the political alignment of the offenders? Yep. You got it.

I’ve heard about it and explained how bad it was. I have internet friends who are fans of the show. :em08:

The worst part of this is that they (the fans) don’t realize how bad this is

I just posted a link to the article on my LJ.

I already boycott the Communist Broadcast System, and I’m gonna go out of my way to do the same to ANY outfit that advertises on that show! there is NO shit-eatin’mudda-fuckin’ excuse for what those chickenshit asswipes did to those Vets, PERIOD!! I read that story, but it didn’t mention the actual actors other than Daniel Dae-Kim. (He seemed annoyed when he heard what happened, but the story wasn’t clear on this) I have a feeling they may not have been aware of what was going on. I hope they didn’t and are blasting the production staff behind closed doors. Obviously, I’ve… Read more »

I’m with AWM on thinking that this was the typical arrogance of the production crew.

Oh by the way, here’s a couple of “visual aides” for those who haven’t heard of Grace Park

When I was in college we used to make bets on whether Jack Lord would wind up the episode with a “Book him, Danno” or a “Book him, Chin”

I always went with Chin so I usually cleaned up.

Here is a story about the elitists at CBS. When deployed in Iraq, Catfish Airways shuttled Soldiers all over the place. Getting off of a Blackhawk at Camp Victory, this chaplain noticed a gaggle of Lamestream Media journalists getting ready to board a helo for some destination or other. Chaplains are kind to everyone, even the most arrogant and insensitive… Read more »

But from the very beginning of the Steffan Tubbs screed, the guy had a massive chip on his shoulder and he was lashing out at everyone he could think of — except the people he should have been lashing out at. Yes, the cemetery administrators should be torn a new one. Agreed. The point here is that the Pearl Harbor association, also victims of the double booking, were bullied and shooed away. The Hawaii 5-0 filming crew had no problem pushing around old men, men they were not worthy to breathe the same air with. Now, if the director had actually… Read more »

DJ – I see you’re back….again. this makes what, the 7th, 8th time you were going to ‘quit for good’? Intrangisent little weasel. Yes, the production crew has an incredibly tight schedule to run. And the head of the production crew didn’t factor in time for ‘problems’? That’s hardly professional. Couple that with the fact that it wouldn’t have cost… Read more »

While I agree that the cemetary people are at the start of the screw up, I cannot get it out of my head that no one from the production company thought hey you know this is the 70th year since Pearl Harbor filming that week at the military cemetary may not be such a bright idea. Having lived in CA… Read more »

Well we could speculate on the outcome of a fictitious legal battle regarding this situation and the “public sentiment” etc. etc. all day long and while I will admit I agree that ultimately the company would prevail legally, I also think you miscalculate the PR damage that the company / show would sustain. In fact a rival network would probably… Read more »

Just to clarify a bit, while the Hawaii Five-0 production crew did have approval to film on the grounds of this national cemetery, they did not “rent” the time and space and didn’t have exclusive rights to be on that hallowed ground while they shot the scene for their TV show. They did make a $1000 donation. According to this… Read more »

DJ, A valiant effort, but wrong on the fundamentals. You’re breaking this down to molecules, then getting an electron microscope out in search of reasons why others may be at fault, the complexities of TV production work and other extenuating circumstances, timing, miscommunication, even the number of days away from December 7th. As a good friend of mine is prone… Read more »
