You Fight the Battle You’re In, Not the Battle You WISH You Were In.

Just a short comment on LC Jackboot’s excellent post about the upcoming battle and, among other things, Sarah Palin.

This isn’t about our “preferred” or “ideal” candidate, we haven’t picked on yet, it’s just a short observation on battlefield reality.

One of the issues that come up time and again among good conservatives is that we must avoid fielding a candidate who is “too divisive” as such a candidate will be savaged by the Obamedia, thus putting us at a disadvantage.

We understand the fear, but the argument doesn’t make any sense, particularly not now that the Obamedia have fully and openly, without even the slightest attempt at pretense, vested themselves in the re-election of their Jugeared Messiah.

It doesn’t matter who we field, he or she will be subjected to a massive pile-on by OPFOR. We should all have learned that from ’08, when we fielded the most milque-toast, nadless, indecisive, “loved by the media” candidate of the primaries.

If finding a candidate who will not be viciously and endlessly smeared, slandered, libeled and savaged by the Obamedia in ’12 is the criterion we decide to go by, then we might as well cede the battleground and go home to memorize the Internationale.

It’s as pointless as a WWII admiral making convoy plans based on the requirement that, however they’re planned, said plan must guarantee that the Germans won’t use their U-boats.

The DemCong aren’t going to not use their most potent weapon, no matter who we nominate. We could nominate Alan Grayson and they’d still pile on him because he was running against their Master, Ogabe.

Don’t waste time on finding a candidate that is “acceptable” to the Obamedia, there isn’t such a candidate to be found, spend your time instead thinking about finding a candidate who won’t be put on the defensive by their inevitable onslaught, and think also about ways to counter their efforts. Spending a bit of time wondering about how to use their own methods against them would also be a good idea. Just ask Patton.

The Obamedia, although they most certainly still have the upper hand in the infowars, are on the defensive now and, keep in mind as you recoil from divisive candidates, their brazen lies are beginning to backfire more and more. The louder and more shrill they get, the more it is turning off the average Mr. and Mrs. America, as their Tucson Fuckup proved.

Who knows. Maybe fielding somebody who will drive them truly apoplectic is the single best weapon we have?

Thatisall.

The candidate we field must be the one that drives them totally around the twist! THEN, we prove the lies, and win.

Exactly. We “took the enemy’s advice” about whom to nominate, whether consciously or otherwise. He ran the worst campaign of the century, with the possible exception of Bob Dole in 1996. That’s what we get from listening to the media…and as long as the media is left-leaning, it will remain that way.

Our first step is to shore up our voices. Protect freedom of the internet, and resist any effort to invoke the Fairness Doctrine. Let the progressives oppressives have their dinosaur media, we don’t need them nor do I want them anywhere near me. They have chosen their side, and they are propagandists in the style of Goebbels…..and I have no problem comparing them with their National Socialist counterparts.

It won’t matter who you put up, the opposition will always “savage” your candidate. Why not? It isn’t as if your side isn’t going to “savage” the other sid

Thank you, first of all, for admitting that the opposition includes the Obamedia, seeing as how those were the only ones I was talking about.

Just let me add that, when I talk about “savage”, I don’t mean the usual “we don’t like such-and-such”, I was talking about the full frontal insanity of sending out battalions of “journalists” to dig around dumpsters for “dirt” on candidates they don’t like while totally ignoring the front and center “problems” of their preferred candidate.

The former is normal. The latter is a clear symptom of mental illness requiring heavy medication.

Sure, some are. Really, though, I’d bet that most of The Middle would be more happy presented with a list of clearly differing alternatives versus two nearly identical options of “Centrist” versus “Moderate”.

Maybe the real prevailing mentality in the Middle is that if we could just keep the forces in Washington in balance, the government would be so mired in partisan bickering that the rest of us could be left alone unless it’s really important. The problem is that they just end up doing something “bipartisan” and screw us anyway.

    DJ Allyn, ITW says:

The only reason it was “dragged” to the Left was because of the failures caused by the Right. And we’ve done pretty damn good for ourselves being dragged to the Left for at least fifty of those years. We saw the biggest expansion of the middle class of any nation in history. Most of the money supply was in the hands of the bottom 80 percent of the population, instead of the other way around now.

FDR and the left took advantage of a depressed economy and massive unemployment to socialize this country, every socialist worth their name badge does the same thing. HItler did it, Mussolini did it, Marx and Lenin did it but they took it to the extreme…..and now obama wants to try it. Like his chief of staff said “Don’t let a good crisis go to waste”.

The only difference between us and them is that no leftist president of this country has ever had a complete lock on power like the other socialist leaders of the world have had. The president of this country has no authority to dissolve their government like HItler and Mussolini and Stalin did. The checks and balances put forth by the Constitution see to that, so do free elections.

who do you work for again? who signs your paycheck? do they demand your fealty on a daily basis? I once worked with a woman who, given that we were working for the US Military, was staunchly anti-military. She worked there because the Army pretty much paid for her art school education. She had a habit of lecturing military personnel who came out to work with us, she lectured them on the “blood thirsty” career that they chose. I once heard her doing this to some officers that she and I were working with and I reminded her in front of these guys that “Instead of chastising them, you should thank them for signing the tuition check to your art school”……hypocrisy at it’s worst. Bad mouthing corporations and billionaires all while working for them is talking the talk but not walking it too……

I already have, but it wasn’t by choice. The talk radio station in Philadelphia that was carrying his program dropped him a couple of weeks ago. They decided to feature local hosts instead.

The only reason it was “dragged” to the Left was because of the failures caused by the Right.

Which “Right” is that? The Federal Reserve System? The 16th and 17th Amendments? Herbert Hoover? None of them had anything to do with the “right”. (Hoover’s idiotic meddling turned what should have been a severe but brief recession into a depression; and Roosevelt largely doubled down on his policies, which deepened and extended the depression. That’s not Beck; that’s Amity Shlaes.)

And we’ve done pretty damn good for ourselves being dragged to the Left for at least fifty of those years. We saw the biggest expansion of the middle class of any nation in history.

Actually, the real reason why the United States was so prosperous in the 1950s and 60s is that the industrial base of all the other major countries in the world was bombed to rubble in WWII. We were literally the only game in town for a while. America was prosperous despite the statists, not because of them.

You are too oblivious to the fact that you are doing the bidding of the billionaires whose ultimate goal is for you to live the life of a peon.

    1. I don’t have a problem with billionaires per se, as long as they earned their wealth by innovation and by providing goods and services that people want. By doing so, they enhance and improve everyone’s lives.

    2. Unfortunately, most billionaires today are fully on board with statism of either the socialist or fascist variety (and I don’t make a whole lot of distinction between the two). People who earn great wealth through free-market competition often change their tune after they’ve made their own fortune. They tend to want to pull the ladder up behind them to prevent any upstart competitors from knocking them off their perches.

You’re right: they do want to reduce me to peonage, but it’s because they’re on the Left, not the Right.

I can’t believe you are still on that Hitler was a Socialist meme. Just because he took over a popular socialist party to get his ass democratically elected to the leader of a country doesn’t make him a socialist. He was a totalitarian, and those come in all sizes and flavors, even capitalist.

Hitler ran on getting the wealth and power out of the hands of what he perceived were the “money grubbing Jews”. Once he made them the scapegoats, then he completely nationalized industry, banks, universities, and the health care system. I don’t call obama a nazi, I don’t even call him a communist, but I do believe he strongly believes in a more socialistic America.

whose changes do we morph to? Europe’s? China’s? Russia’s? Cuba’s? All one needs to do to prove how great this Republican form of government is, is to see who in the world is immigrating and to where…..Everyone wants to come here, because of the opportunity to make something of their lives unhindered by a big brother government telling them how much they will make and how much will be taken away from them.
