We’re Sure This is Further Proof of Conservative McCarthyism or Something

LC Gladiator alerts us to another outbreak of liberal hysteria over somebody daring to criticize Teh Anointed One™:

New Orleans residents protested in front of a local man’s house Wednesday after he put up several signs in his yard depicting President Barack Obama as a puppet and a crying baby in a diaper, with one city council member even trying to determine whether the signs can forcibly removed.

Money quote from the diaper sign: “Change me, I stink.”

And of course the first reaction of a liberal council member to displays of free speech she doesn’t approve of is to see if there’s a workaround to avoid that pesky First Amendment.

City Council Member Susan Guidry told New Orleans’ WWL-TV she’s concerned about public safety and is trying to figure out if the signs are even legal.

The safety of the public needs to be protected from conservative criticism and satire? Why of course. It’s interesting how liberals are only ever concerned about “public safety” when it comes to shutting down speech they disagree with. Killing off terrorists before they have the opportunity to kill any more members of the public they pretend to care about, though? Not so much.

“We have to determine that there is a zoning law that prohibits perhaps the size of the sign, perhaps the way that it’s erected, that it is leaning over onto public property,” Guidry said.

Notice that the liberal Gauleiter isn’t saying that they have to determine if there’s something illegal about the sign, she flat out admits that they have to determine that there is some obscure, GestapObama rule prohibiting the display of blasphemous speech about Teh One™. She’s already made her mind up that this blatant display of non-liberal opinion has got to go, now it’s only a matter of finding the flaky, dictatorial excuse for doing so.

But none dare call it “fascism” because, well, that would be so “unhelpful”, “uncivil” and downright “Visigothery” and, as we all know, liberals are Good People Who Love America Too™.

“Whatever we can use, we will,

Does it get any more blatantly obvious than the above? Is it OK for us to call them fascists now?

but of course, we do have to balance that with First Amendment rights.”

Yeah. Damn that annoying First Amendment which keeps popping up and getting in the way of liberals stopping any speech but their own. But don’t worry. Liberals are busy every day trying to find a way around that and “conservatives” are equally busy denouncing any actual conservatives who dare point it out.

And then there are the usual sub-zero IQ comments from the “protesters” who, we might add, have every bit as much right to protest and be inexcusably dense as the property owner has to put up the sign in the first place. What they don’t have the right to, no matter how much liberal Hollyweird celebrities squeal about “prosecution” and “violations of their civil rights” every time somebody criticizes them, is freedom from vicious mockery.

“It disrespects the nation — and President Barack Obama represents [FIFY — Emp.M.] our nation,” said Skip Alexander, as he looked at one of the signs. “He represents everybody, not some people.”

Erm no, he doesn’t. Whereas “the nation is me and I am the nation” sounds pretty nifty in the original German, it doesn’t work at all when translated into English.

“He wouldn’t do that to [President] Bush, I’m sure. It’s just insulting. It’s insulting,” said C.C. Campbell-Rock. “He’s going to have to take them down.”

He probably wouldn’t do that to President Bush, now that you mention it. Of course, he wouldn’t have to, as we clearly remember that there was no shortage of mouth-breathing liberal twatmolds like yourself waving signs portraying Bush as Hitler back in the day. Oddly enough, there was an interesting shortage of liberals insisting that the First Amendment rights of those imbeciles should be declared null and void. Not so surprisingly, the same was true of conservatives, since conservatives only have one standard, rather than the double ones always employed by liberals.

And no, he’s not going to have to take them down, unless you can cite chapter and verse denying him his First Amendment right to make you cry and wet your adult diapers.

And, of course, the obligatory liberal cretinism:

“This is nothing put pure racism,” said Raymond Rock. “This is a disgrace.”

We’d have been sorely disappointed if there hadn’t been at least one liberal clown around throwing the race card.

Thank you for, once again, proving to the world that liberals are one-trick ponies with the IQ of over-boiled cabbage.

You make His Imperial Majesty’s job so much easier, so please don’t ever stop.

    FOIST !!

Black panthers can say kill all white people and say it on signs but G-d forbid a white person put up a sign and he doesn,t call for anyone to die.

I’ve noticed they waited till the third interview to play the race card…I also noticed almost all the protesters are black but all the neighbors are white…I bet the community organizers are Astroturfing here because it looks like the protesters are bussed in.

Apparently Free Speech is only good for the liberal progressives. The rest of us are supposed to sit down and shut up. Of course we do have our second amendment rights…

    Spider Robinson wrote once:

You know, the redneck clowns who chanted “America–love it or leave it!” while they stomped me back in the sixties didn’t have a bad slogan. The only problem was that they got to define “love of America,” and they limited its meaning to “blind worship of America.” In addition they limited the definition of America to “the man in the White House.”

How ironic that now, over four decades after that original stompin’ took place, it’s the liberals who are getting their definitions wrong, in the exact same fashion.
