Ogabe Advisor David Poof: “Americans Don’t Care About Unemployment”

At least not enough that skyrocketing unemployment, energy prices and deficits is going to influence how they vote in 2012.

Keep telling yourself that, you disgusting socialist shit.

“The average American does not view the economy through the prism of GDP or unemployment rates or even monthly jobs numbers,” Plouffe said, according to Bloomberg. “People won’t vote based on the unemployment rate, they’re going to vote based on: ‘How do I feel about my own situation? Do I believe the president makes decisions based on me and my family?’ ”

Of course, cynics might point out that unemployment might have an effect on how the individual voters “feel about their situation”, particularly if they’re unemployed thanks to Ogabelini’s Junta or staring potential unemployment in the face for the same reason.

Personally, we think that poor Davey Pooftah just misspoke. Consider this:

“The average American One™ does not view the economy policy decisions and governing through the prism of GDP or unemployment rates or even monthly jobs numbers,”

See? Now it’s absolutely correct!

Thatisall.

It’s almost like you can see the rolling tanks behind him as he denies Allied Forces are in Baghdad.

Translation: Plouffe says that the individual Joe Voter doesn’t care about the unemployment rate, because it represents other people’s job situations and not his own. This fails to consider the possibility that Joe Voter might perceive the increasing unemployment rates as a trend that could eventually land on his own doorstep.

They don’t think John and Jane Q. Public are smart enough to think that way, or to plan in advance. They regard the vast majority as dumb, blind sheep who can’t think any further than their next meal. Sadly, they are becoming more and more correct.

It’s looking more and more likely that the three percenter’s are going to be the ones to save the Republic once again.

Methinks this person is whistling past the graveyard.. Reagan when announcing his candidacy against Carter said, “A recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when You lose your job, a RECOVERY is when Carter loses his job… I think this applies here and I’m sure will be hearing that little sound bite quite a bit over… Read more »

As always, the Emperor is right on the money.

Sadly, the likely winner in 2012 will be either Slimeball Oblahma or some slimeball Republican with a similarly socialist agenda. At least with Democrats, they tell you they are going to be socialists.

The big loser, yet again, will be America and her people.

God be with us.

a RECOVERY is when Carter loses his job…

Sadly, the Republicans aren’t going to do much better.

Sadly, the Republicans aren’t going to do much better.

I fear you are correct. I fully expect the establishment GOP to try to ram another RINO down our throats, like Romney or Perry, and nothing will change.

Krauthammer nailed it on Fox News Special Report the other night. To paraphrase “Basically they’re saying the bitter clingers are too dumb to follow the economy”.

Hey Poofy boy, care to explain yer shellacking in 2010 then?

They’re talking about this at the Belmont Club (“Liberalism: out of a job?”). One commenter has this to say. I hate to be the wild-eyed pessimist here, but I feel I have to point out that in every crisis, economic or otherwise, in the 20th Century in a country controlled by “progressives”, the response cascade ran; 1. Increase government control… Read more »
