The new Dem pork bill got vetoed. Heres why.

Some of the entries include $505 million in aid to Central American countries; $25 million for gender equity and democracy promotion programs in Pakistan; $1.3 billion in military aid to Egypt; and $219.5 million in aid to Southeast Asian nations.

Heres the kicker

The HEROES Act, a proposal backed by Pelosi, would allow tax-paying immigrants who are in the country illegally to receive emergency relief funds during the coronavirus pandemic. The help would also extend to their family members who are U.S. citizens and green-card holders.

I don’t get it. Why would the Donks give the finger to their people like this? Even if I was a liberal – that thing would offend me. What am I missing here…?

I don’t get it. Why would the Donks give the finger to their people like this? The ‘Donks’ didn’t. Republicans did. The ‘Donks’ were trying to get MORE money. They wanted $2000 direct payments every month until April, and $600 per week enhancement on unemployment benefits. Republicans only wanted to give businesses legal protection from being sued for not following… Read more »

US citizens get $600… Illegals get $2500 The HEROES Act was never passed. That act would have given US citizens $2000 each, and has been the proposal since the House passed it in March. We ended up with the $600 because Republicans compromised. They didn’t (and still don’t) want to give ANY direct payments to Americans. In fact, when Pelosi… Read more »

Where was Trump during all of this? Oh, that’s right, he was too busy whining about losing an election, promoting false election bullshit, and running a fundraiser off of his rubes who think that he is actually trying to fight to keep his seat. Virtually every “pork” project he complained about in the spending bill are things that his administration… Read more »

Or not. I think you are missing something really kind of important here. There are TWO bills waiting for Trump to sign / veto / ignore. The first one is the actual annual budget bill — the one that will shut down the government on Tuesday if it isn’t signed. It’s also the spending bill that got everything that the… Read more »

IIRC you said the same about “obstruction” charges…that didnt happen. YET. Statute of Limitations is five years — ten, if it involves financial crimes. William Barr wasn’t going to do anything, but the next AG probably will… Oh, and there are still the NY State charges that are pending. So try a little patience. How about we wait and see?… Read more »

Statute of limitations on WHAT?NOT ONE CHARGE NOT ONE crime proven..so what has a limit? To date not one charge has been levied and there is no proof of any obstruction nor is there any. You keep saying that, but refuse to actually read the Mueller Report. Instead, you let others ‘summarize’ it for you, conveniently leaving out the actual… Read more »

I apologize in advance for the length of this comment. If the Dems want to open that can of worms, PLEASE DO we’d love to go after Obumboy and hammer him for a raft of charges starting with Fast and Furious You must have missed the part where I said that the feds going after previous presidents was a bad idea.… Read more »

I actually MISSED the complete disinformation you posted on the front page here.. The HEROES Act was passed by the House back in May 2020 and was sent to Mitch McConnell in the Senate, where it sat in a large stack of other bills passed by the House for McConnell to ignore. And he did ignore it by tossing it… Read more »

I had a bone spur comment? You are living in a nation that encouraged draft dodgers..AS DID THE MAJORITY back then as evading the draft and not going to Vietnam was considered brave and heroic. I don’t think we ‘encouraged’ them. But it was a widely unpopular war that most Americans couldn’t see the point in. We had just come… Read more »

Try 1975, fuckface, I was 13 almost 14, the same year Whitlam was dismissed thanks to the US government. So you were still but a child — sorry I missed the mark by under two years. I had already already graduated from college with two degrees — actually having participated in Vietnam protests more than the ‘three years’ that you… Read more »

It is obvious you are stuck on something completely different than the topic at hand. It has nothing to do with the US or anything remotely connected to what we’ve been talking about. You still were only a child back then — which has been my point all along. Under 18 and you are a kid. Under 14, you are… Read more »

Art of the deal, only we the people are still getting screwed. You watch, the political class will give POTUS the 2000 cash for the plebeians but will absolutely refuse to cut the shit spending out of the bill. Okay, I’m confused with your convoluted logic here… Nanny state — bad Blue state governors are ‘socialist’ and need to be jailed Free market economy Everyone fend for themselves. BUT GIVE ME MORE FREE MONEY, DAMMIT! $600 IN FREE MONEY ISN’T ENOUGH! It’s a “disgrace”. I am confused, because $1200 direct payment checks have been at the top of Democrat’s… Read more »

the virus was rampant and out of control, over 300 thousand people had already died, with another 100 thousand predicted dead by Inauguration. Hey OT, that was a tad sarcastic on my part. I personally don’t want the “government” to give anyone anything they have not rightfully earned, as in stealing my income for 40 years to piddle back some SS in my last 18 years on this planet. And the ORIGINAL point in this comment — Trump vetoing the Defense spending bill because it had “pork” that HE asked for, and it didn’t include his idiotic repeal of “Section 230”, and requires the renaming of a few bases — has had Trump’s veto overridden. Just as I predicted. In spite of Bernie’s attempt at pushing for Trump’s $2000… Read more »
