Told you

The Biden-Harris transition website outlines the Democrats’ COVID-19 plan, promising that the new administration would “implement mask mandates nationwide by working with governors and mayors and by asking the American people to do what they do best – step up in a time of crisis”.

I wasnt aware the Federal government could issue orders to the States in this manner.

Utah law professors say so, Ive seen others that say that this is overreach and that the States retain this authority.

Democrats don’t give a damn about the law or the constitution. What are they going to do when people refuse? Send out the FBI?

I suspect the method would be to withhold Medicare money or something like that from states that do not comply.

Short answer: No, the federal government cannot mandate states to wear masks. Longer answer: Fuck no, the federal government cannot mandate states to wear masks.. Longest answer: What the federal government can — and will do — under a Biden administration is to mandate masks on federal property, installations, operations, and anything else under US government control. That could include… Read more »

LOL — I probably should have read your excerpt a little closer before I responded, Bren. … [T]he new administration would “implement mask mandates nationwide by working with governors and mayors and by asking the American people to do what they do best – step up in a time of crisis”. You almost highlighted the important information. So the way… Read more »

Since the governors have control over the states (although I don’t know why) OT is correct. What’s much more worrying is this: Biden Wants to Reenter Iran Nuclear Deal Amos Hochstein, former U.S. Special Envoy for International Energy Affairs in the Obama administration, who oversaw energy sanctions on Iran and worked closely with Vice President Biden, told Israel’s Channel 12 that rejoining… Read more »

Since the governors have control over the states (although I don’t know why)  Really? You don’t know why? Each state is literally it’s separate little nation-state each with their own Constitution, and three branches of government. It’s why the US Constitution refers to this as “several states”, giving each their own legal entity. It’s what gives room for “state’s rights”… Read more »

It’s why the US Constitution refers to this as “several states”, giving each their own legal entity. It’s what gives room for “state’s rights” as opposed to the US government being the one in direct control of the states. We respectfully disagree. That bit was merely dicta. Abraham Lincoln, Washington, D.C., and U.S. Grant and the Army of the Potomac,… Read more »

OF COURSE, I know that each state has a constitution. I took Civics. I mean in terms of COVID-19, which I don’t remember being mentioned in any constitution. Since when do we give money to a country that’s at war with us? Since when do they not forfeit their rights to property when they declare war on us? Have they… Read more »

And speaking of basic math, here is former Senator Coleman from Minnesota: “On Election Day, they fight voter ID. In my case, I got 19 precincts in Minneapolis with more votes than voters”

More votes than voters? Districts that went 100% Democratic? I don’t buy it.

Attorney General William Barr has reportedly authorized federal prosecutors to pursue “substantial allegations” of voting irregularities from the 2020 election before the results are certified. In instances in which they are consulted, the Election Crime Branch’s general practice has been to counsel that overt investigative steps ordinarily should not be taken until the election in question has been concluded, its… Read more »

I was just preparing a post on that. The head of that branch handed in his resignation. Interestingly, he was up to his neck in the Lois Lerner mess.
