I am told that in a few days….

…a bunch of glitter headed idiotarians will parade on stage, hand each other gushing words and meaningless awards for pretending to be other people, prate and virtue signal about all their “noble causes” and “great issues that MUST be addressed in the name of equality and social justice”, then climb back into their expensive cars with their goodie bags worth thousands of dollars apiece, be driven back to their mansions in gated estates surrounded by armed guards…

..meanwhile, thousands of miles away, soldiers from many nations will hunker down for the night, sleep as best they can, check their weapons and gear in the morning, and set out to make the world a better place.

They wont worry about if a microphone “might make their dress ride up” , they worry if they will come home safe to those they love.

They dont worry about “social justice”, their calling is freedom and peace, which they have sworn to defend, placing their bodies between their homes and the war’s desolation.

There is one major difference between the soldier and the celebutard.

One is a band of brothers, who know firsthand that their duty, their sacrifice, their courage in the face of an enemy that hates all they stand for..will change the world for the better.

The other is a group of vapid morons from Hollyweird.

    Terrapod growls and barks:

Well stated. Not much to add other than the Hollywierd crowd is just starting (a few of them) to get the hint that no one gives a shit about them any more and the box office is showing it. Their obnoxiousness will increase the more they are ignored. Pass the XXXX.

    LCBren growls and barks:

The awards season has lifted “The Shape of Water,” “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and “Get Out” into current frontrunner status.

Lemme see here, one third rate apparently plagiarised garbage “message” SF film and two pieces of crap no one has even heard of….

    angrywebmaster growls and barks:

Is this about that thing called the “Academy Awards?” Is that still something anyone pays attention to?
Well I have a book to read, and I consider that very important.

Brendan – my memories of xxxx were from around 1971, I was in the navy, we would drink ANYTHING with ethanol content, seeing that USN does not allow it on board ship, we docked in Sydney harbour and your Aussie guys were great, invited us over to their ships for a beer or two. Good times, literally a lifetime ago. At the time we considered it drinkable. Mind you there was not much choice back then, and I don’t really like Fosters but it was available, ergo consumed. :em05: In Perth I remember Black swan as being pretty good.

    In other news

Guatemala will move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv in May, two days after the US embassy makes the same move, Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales says.

“I would like to thank President Trump for leading the way. His courageous decision has encouraged us to do what is right,” Morales said in a speech at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual policy conference on Sunday, according to a translation of his remarks on AIPAC’s website.

Wonder if the celebutards even notice…:-D

Lucky you that you can wait a “few days” to hear about all of this. WE can’t avoid hearing about it on every electronic device known to man. My refrigerator bombards me with the damn news surrounding it. (I never understood why we got the damn thing –nobody needs to be that connected…)

I work adjacent to this industry. Not Hollywood, Vancouver. Sound/Audio Engineer doing mostly television. Entirely different group of people. Different attitudes, different lifestyle from those in California.

Maybe it’s the weather. We bundle up a bit more than they do down there. :em05:

It cannot be denied that the social justice messages in films have become a big turn off to audiences. But, fear not because here come the social justice wielding progressives riding in on their white horse to tell us which films are important via showering them with their awards.

Our choice is to accept the turds they give us that they don’t even bother to polish and claim are gold or do we vote with our wallets and seek out the films that do reflect our values as new competitive film companies spring up.

The film industry is transforming but without question the social justice causes are helping to push it off a cliff and awards season is when all of America gets to witness that train wreck first hand. As it stands now, The Oscars are nothing more than virtue signalling participant trophies.

Wish you could force them to switch places for just one day. How many of the Hollywood crowd would emerge unbroken?

    It gets better.

An inclusion rider is an addition to a contract that A-List actors and filmmakers can include in negotiations that require the film or TV production to formally adhere to inclusion and diversity onscreen and offscreen for women, people of color, LGBTQ and those with disabilities can be truly represented.

The inclusion rider as designed by Dr Smith and Ms Kotagal would mean 50 per cent gender parity for small and supporting roles, as well as inclusion for people of colour (40 per cent), LGBTQ people (5 per cent) and people with disabilities (20 per cent).

You can ask for or demand at least 50% diversity in not only the casting and the crew

The words “batshit insane” come to mind…

Why did this win lemme see here……

Elisa Esposito, found in a river as an orphaned child with wounds on her neck, is mute and communicates through sign language. Living alone in an apartment above a movie theater, she works as a cleaning woman at a secret government laboratory in Baltimore during the Cold War in 1962. Her only friends are her next-door neighbor Giles, a struggling gay advertising illustrator who shares a strong bond with her, and her co-worker Zelda, an African-American woman who also serves as her interpreter at work.

I notice that Wonder Woman wasnt represented at the Oscars.

Oh yeah Gal Gadot is Israeli.

    Silly me…

Fa Cube Itches growls and barks:

One good thing about the Oscars – it marks the end of the insufferable parade of Entertainment Industry Autofellatio show season.

    Bitter Clinger growls and barks:

Oh yeah Gal Gadot is Israeli.
