Lazy?

Obummer just can’t resist bad mouthing his supposed home country whenever he’s out fellating the world’s tyrants, can he?

Wednesday at a a Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) town hall in Luang Prabang, Laos, President Barack Obama said Americans can be “lazy” because we are so big we think “We don’t have to know anything about other people.”

It’s not laziness, it’s more like an exasperated parent. The only thing we need to know about the rest of the world is “What’d y’all fuck up this time and who do we need to kill to fix it?”

I wish the fucking dumb ass would stop talking about a culture he wasn’t raised in. I’ve heard fwench *spit* speak better of Americans.

I wonder what the investigations after President Trump takes office may find? Der Fubar may have a book full of pardons to sign, (Starting with the Cankled One), but he can’t pardon himself.

Resign the day before his term expires, then have Biden do it.

Biden is thinking of his legacy.Would you want to be known as the “One Day President” who’s only achievement was pardoning the previous president? Worked out real well for Ford, didn’t it?

Biden’s legacy is already sealed – plagiarist and anti-drug crusader with a kid who snorted half of Colombia.

You forgot his being on the wrong side of every major issue for his entire career.

I’m sorry I am not sure I saw this right.

The “rest of the world” needs America to look after them?

Or were you being facetious?

found this gem years ago…

i didn’t write this.
i didn’t even find it. (SapperSgt did)
but i do believe the gentleman has an interesting take on things:

———————————————————-

I don’t know what ‘the west’ wants, but Americans are simple: we want
the rest of the world to go away and stop bothering us.

Understand I’m not speaking for myself – I’d be on a plane somewhere
365 days a year if I could manage it. But Americans generally don’t
like being forced to confront the outside world. We have quite a large
country of our own and if we find it cramped there’s always Canada
(America Lite).

Americans want to spend their days working. We like working. We like
coming up with crazy plans and turning them into billion dollar
businesses. If we’re not working we want to hang out with family. We
don’t like thinking about politics, we’re not the French. We don’t
like having to learn the differences between Shia and Sunni because,
quite frankly, we don’t give a damn. We just want to work and hang out.

From time to time Americans are forced to recognize the existence of
some other piece of the world: Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq. We resent
being forced to do so. We didn’t really know these places existed,
didn’t care, and don’t wish to be irritated by them because we have
work to do.

So we fall back on simple, direct solutions to ease the irritation:
nuke ’em all. Nuke ’em all, and then get back to work. It’s not that
we harbor particular malice toward one country or another, one religion
or another. What we harbor is indifference. If you threaten our
indifference by forcing us to pay attention to you and your intractable
foreign problems we may have to blow something up just so you’ll go
away. There is, after all, money to be made, and work to be done, and
family to be hung out with.

We’re busy: don’t make us kill you.

I grant that in some cases it’s our own government’s actions that force
us into the position of having to learn where Fallujah is
(answer: who cares?) but that doesn’t alter our underlying sense that
the whole world should just stop bothering us and let us get back
to work.

red1c1c4 – thanks for posting that, it certainly condenses things down to the grit of the matter.

I say to all those who are not Americans (and this sadly includes by mental attitude and thinking a fairly large percentage of those born here), please quit trying to re-engineer our psyche, our society and our ways of doing things. We have developed our institutions, customs, love of family, god and country over 240 plus years and some useless drivel written by those who have never worked, built or done jack shit over in Europe (or now in the U.S.) is not going to re-shape what we are without causing a very nasty push back.

An aside – just got back from working a week in Poland – what I did NOT see:
Burkas, beggars, trash in the cities, graffiti, homeless and groups of people hanging around waiting for handouts.

What I did see:
Industrious, proud and very hard working folks doing the best with what they have, building infrastructure to facilitate commerce, working hard, building homes on their own land, with what resources they have, even if it takes a few years to complete, proud of their nation and their history, and boy are they linked to our history. One has to appreciate how far they have advanced since the Bear left the neighborhood. Is all of the soviet era mentality gone? Not all, but it is becoming less prevalent by the day.

Tyrants beware – Americans – those who truly built this country will have an accounting and may not wait for God to sort it out.

Looking at this and Crunchie’s comments….and speaking as someone who LIVES in that “rest of the world”….trust me, theres another side to those comments. Theres a lot I could say.

Be glad I dont

Perhaps a better way to put it would be “What genocidal, tyrannical form of government has someone invented that’s slaughtering millions and threatening to conquer the world that we need to destroy now”.

Understood.
