A Short History Lesson For The One

So Ogabe was speaking to a bunch of Christians at the National Prayer Breakfast. What a better time to bash Christianity and engage in a little false moral relativism by dredging up the old Crusades.

Let’s get one or two things out of the way. The Crusades were a defensive war started after almost 600 years of Saracen assaults against Christendom. These assaults resulted in the raping, murder and enslaving of at least one million Europeans. Muslims sacked Rome and were at the gates of Paris and Vienna. Constantinople and the Byzantine Empire were besieged. Spain was conquered.  Thousands of churches, monasteries and nunneries had been pillaged and burnt. I wont speak of what was done to the nuns. This was all done by successive Sultans who waged new wars of conquest to fulfill Mohamed’s commands. And yes, the Crusades were savage and atrocities were committed, that was the nature of war then even in the best of times. But the Crusaders were incensed at the depredations the Saracen hordes had inflicted on Europe and on the pilgrims who were slaughtered and enslaved on the way to the Holy Lands. They weren’t in the mood to play nice. After 600 years of attack, they fought back. After 170 years of intermittent campaigns they left and went back to Europe. The forces of Islam however continued to wage war continuously, both amongst themselves and on their neighbors. All commanded by their “Prophet” and the unholy book they followed. And they continued to do so for the next 1,000 years right up to the present day.

I will not be shamed when someone mentions the Crusades in an effort to somehow downplay the Islamists continuing Jihad against civilization. I would prefer instead that we launch a new one. Except this time we win it.

Here’s a short video for Ogabe. If he can tear himself away from the mirror and his selfie stick long enough, he may actually learn something.

You will notice the Surrenderer in Chief has chosen not to live under Pislamic rule, only to use muslims and illegal aliens as a vehicle to political power. Obozo is anti semitic, anti white, and anti capitalist. He wants what you have, but is unwilling to work for it. He is more than willing to steal it. Obama is little more than a lowlife Ferguson Rioter in a political soap opera.

You may want to add serial killer since he has a list and likes to send in the drones.
Hmm, Stalin also had a list, as did Hitler.

Now that’s one of the most accurate statements I’ve heard in a long time.

I feel I must add a caveat. Many of the Crusaders decided to start their crusade for Christ by killing Jews and children. Read about the Children’s Crusade. Most of this type of crusader never made it to the Holy Land.

That said, of course Ogabe is out of his mind. The Inquisition was hundred of years ago (and again, the first ones to suffer were the Jews) and the Crusades were 800 years ago. Not relevant today. What strikes me is that he’s arguing like a 5-year old. “You did it too!”

I’m beginning to think more and more that he should be committed to an asylum with all the people who think they’re Napoleon.

As for anti-Semitism, I knew this long ago. Here’s what Caroline Glick has to say about it.

US President Barack Obama is mainstreaming anti-Semitism in America.

This week, apropos of seemingly nothing, in an interview with Mathew Yglesias from the Vox.com website, Obama was asked about terrorism. In his answer the president said the terrorism threat is overrated. And that was far from the most disturbing statement he made.

Moving from the general to the specific, Obama referred to the jihadists who committed last month’s massacres in Paris as “a bunch of violent vicious zealots,” who “randomly shot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris.”

In other words, Ahmedy Coulibaly, the terrorist at Hyper Cacher, the kosher supermarket he targeted, was just some zealot. The Jews he murdered while they were shopping for Shabbat were just “a bunch of folks in a deli,” presumably shot down while ordering their turkey and cheese sandwiches.

No matter that Coulibaly called a French TV station from the kosher supermarket and said he was an al-Qaida terrorist and that he chose the kosher supermarket because he wanted to kill Jews.

Obama’s statement about the massacre of Jews in Paris is notable first and foremost for what it reveals about his comfort level with anti-Semitism.

By de-judaizing the victims, who were targets only because they were Jews, Obama denied the uniqueness of the threat jihadist Islam and its adherents pose to Jews. By pretending that Jews are not specifically targeted for murder simply because they are Jews, he dismissed the legitimate concerns Jews harbor for their safety, whether in Diaspora communities or in Israel.

I just CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!

Muslim terrorists released a video of their mass execution of Christians, Egypt responded with jet fighters carrying bombs, the pope condemned the destruction of life and President Obama went golfing.

That’s even though the ISIS killers, in their video release of details of their beheading of 21 Coptic Christians dressed in orange prison jumpsuits, referenced the language Obama used just a week ago in his remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast.

The Weekly Standard quoted Middle East scholar Bassam Tawil, “Does Obama really want his legacy to be, ‘The president who was an even bigger fool than Neville Chamberlain?’”

The commentary by Tom Gross referred to the synagogue shooting in Copenhagen over the weekend and accused the Obama team of a “willful lack of understanding about the nature of Islamism, about anti-Semitism, and about the intentions of the Islamic revolutionary government in Iran.”

Tea Party Network News noted that when ISIS released the horrifying video of the execution of 21 Copts, Obama was tweeting a message to sign up for Obamacare.

At Gateway Pundit, commentator Jim Hoft noted that Obama’s golf weekend also took place as ISIS surrounded an Iraqi base holding some 320 U.S. Marines.

And ABC was reporting Monday that Obama was squeezing in another round of golf before “ending a long weekend with childhood friends in southern California.”

Obama, the report said, returned to the Porcupine Creek golf course in Rancho Mirage, California, where he played Sunday.

BTW, this hard-hitting article in the Atlantic Monthly (yep) is making the rounds. Pass it on to all your liberal idiot friends who won’t read any conservative sources: this guy takes a hard look at ISIS, and says:

    1. It’s pure unadulterated Islam, and whoever thinks otherwise hasn’t read the Koran

    2. They want to kill, enslave, behead, crucify, and bring on the mohammedan Apocalypse.

    Excerpt:

Muslims who call the Islamic State “un-Islamic” are typically, as the Princeton scholar Bernard Haykel, the leading expert on the group’s theology, told me, “embarrassed and politically correct, with a cotton-candy view of their own religion” that neglects “what their religion has historically and legally required.” Many denials of the Islamic State’s religious nature, he said, are rooted in an “interfaith-Christian-nonsense tradition.”

Every academic I asked about the Islamic State’s ideology sent me to Haykel. Of partial Lebanese descent, Haykel grew up in Lebanon and the United States, and when he talks through his Mephistophelian goatee, there is a hint of an unplaceable foreign accent.

According to Haykel, the ranks of the Islamic State are deeply infused with religious vigor. Koranic quotations are ubiquitous. “Even the foot soldiers spout this stuff constantly,” Haykel said. “They mug for their cameras and repeat their basic doctrines in formulaic fashion, and they do it all the time.”

He regards the claim that the Islamic State has distorted the texts of Islam as preposterous, sustainable only through willful ignorance. “People want to absolve Islam,” he said. “It’s this ‘Islam is a religion of peace’ mantra. As if there is such a thing as ‘Islam’! It’s what Muslims do, and how they interpret their texts.” Those texts are shared by all Sunni Muslims, not just the Islamic State. “And these guys have just as much legitimacy as anyone else.”

All Muslims acknowledge that Muhammad’s earliest conquests were not tidy affairs, and that the laws of war passed down in the Koran and in the narrations of the Prophet’s rule were calibrated to fit a turbulent and violent time.

In Haykel’s estimation, the fighters of the Islamic State are authentic throwbacks to early Islam and are faithfully reproducing its norms of war. This behavior includes a number of practices that modern Muslims tend to prefer not to acknowledge as integral to their sacred texts.

“Slavery, crucifixion, and beheadings are not something that freakish [jihadists] are cherry-picking from the medieval tradition,” Haykel said. Islamic State fighters “are smack in the middle of the medieval tradition and are bringing it wholesale into the present day.”

The whole thing is excellent. Do pass it on.

Considering that it’s been below zero up here in the Land of Granite and Maple Syrup, not to mention the pleasant morning I had shoveling a couple of feet of Al Gore’s Dandruff, (Please. Don’t mention it. Really), burning progressive might be a way to keep warm.
So, how long will a progressive burn? How many cords of Progressives do I need to lay in to keep warm during the cold winter months?
    :em03:
Can I use burning progressives to melt the 9 feet of Global Warming I have in my front yard?
    :em08:
And I have more of Al Gore’s Dandruff coming down now.
