Great Moments in Socialist Stupidity

Good, fucking grief!

This would be utterly hilarious if it weren’t for the fact that we have quite a few LCs living in the ruins of what used to be one of the most prosperous states in the union.

One thing’s for sure, the Californians are about to get what they voted for.

California regulators Thursday are expected to adopt the nation’s most comprehensive carbon trading regime, creating a market-based way to lower greenhouse gas emissions at a time when similar efforts have stalled in Congress.

The program is the centerpiece of the state’s 2006 global warming law, which aims to slash carbon dioxide and other planet-heating pollution to 1990 levels by 2020. That would amount to a 15% cut from today’s level.

The cap-and-trade system “will help drive innovation, create more green jobs and clean up our air and environment,” said California Air Resources Board Chairwoman Mary D. Nichols, adding that it “provides flexibility” to industry and takes “into consideration the current economic climate.”

As a matter of fact, if there’s one thing it doesn’t do then it’s “taking into consideration the current economic climate”, unless you can explain to us how making goods scarcer and more expensive to produce improves the market.

And no, you socialist sow, telling industry how to go about business by Führerdiktat and providing them with one and only one way to do so is not the dictionary definition of “providing flexibility.”

The one thing we’re not debating is that this will surely bring about “new green jobs.” The problem is, for every 10 “green jobs” they create, they’re going to destroy 100 of the old ones.

You would think that watching every single business capable of doing so packing up its tents and stampeding out of California as fast as their legs will take them over the last decade or more would have given those idiots a hint, but only if you assumed that the drooling imbeciles who vote out there actually come equipped with a brain.

But thanks, California. Texas is already responsible for half of the new jobs created nation-wide during the DemPression, partly thanks to businesses fleeing your asylum to get here. We’ve always got room for more.

Once there’s nothing left out there but welfare sows and illegal immigrants, be sure to send us a postcard and let us know how socialism worked out for y’all, y’hear?

Thatisall.

For the first time since it was admitted to the Union in 1850, California isn’t expected to gain any new Congressional districts following a Census. Dr. Victor Davis Hanson provides a vivid portrait of why in his fine essay, Two Californias, published two days ago in NRO.

California leads the country in many sad ways. We can see the effects of the liberal agenda by watching California.

Why do people insist on electing those types of liberals to national office when we already know the end result of their policies? :em98:

This is the kind of shit that has to happen. It is that simple. Let them rot. When the place is falling apart, you restore order and then correct the problem. Of course it helps that there will be a substantially smaller population.

But this is the way i has to go. You can lead a moron to water but you can’t make them drink. So let ‘em die of thirst. Fuck ‘em.

Can y’all contribute so we can build a wall at the CA-AZ Border? Mish, problem with them moving out of CA for the most part they vote for the same crap that doomed their state in the first place. Look at Oregon or Washington. Last month my BIL sold his business in La Jolla and moved to Colorado Springs but at least he is not a liberal.

Don’t worry. Hollywood will be protected from the folly, and as long as just a few people there remain, California will survive. Sure, it won’t have any actual jobs, and none of the people there will speak English, but many of the structures will remain. We will still be able to watch Univision and some of LA’s awesome freeways on a postapocalyptic version of “Chips.” In fact, the death of the state will probably spawn new genres of fiction and literature. The important thing is to man the state’s borders and keep the hippies and socialists isolated, forcing them to eat each other instead of carrying the disease to states that still have an economic heartbeat.

California liberals are human med-flies. Spray them, starve them, sterilize them, but for God’s sake keep them from spreading. Socialism is only good at producing two things, endemic poverty and mass graves. California is already churning out endemic poverty faster than they ever produced aircraft for WW-II, and if we can shutdown the highways at the border we can keep their state, once the foodbasket of the West, from spreading their genocidal environmental polices to states where residents can still feed themselves.

I hate to sound harsh, but John Steinbeck must be rolling over in his grave. The worthless vermin who inhabit the Sunshine State have turned the refugees of the Dust Bowl into refugees once again, and they did it soley because they were enamored with Mao (who starved tens of millions of people to death) and Stalin (who starved tens of millions of people to death).

California remains a part of the US, so the best solution is for most the liberal city folk there to die off, mostly through starvation and cannibalism, and then for other Americans to fill in the void, bringing a new birth of freedom. Hopefully the lesson of it, and the skulls arranged in artistic piles, will serve as a warning for the state not to repeat the socialist experiment.

Not really, alot of Hollywood has moved to more favorable climes…. why do you think Arnie was swearing up and down when he got elected that he was going to do something about ‘runaway production’? He made about a dozen proposals and of course the demonrat legislature shot them down as a matter of course.

Prayers go with you! Maybe you and family should give some consideration to moving before the finkelmeier starts to fly. It’s a shame to see a wonderful place, with many good residents so infested and debased by scum, but Kalifornicate has let itself go right through the bottom of the handbasket. ‘Bout time the capital and worker exodus started draining her pond. Ergo, CA will get a lot worse, before she can get better. This kind of gummintal bs is proof–they’re about 5 years behind the learning curve and unresponsive even to a year old direct slap in the face that glowbull wormening was and remains a grotesque fraud. Even with a constituency not made up entirely of mendicants, even pretty good gummint is sadly slow to respond. When the voting majority are mendicants, because the workers have left, “pretty good” gummint is essentially impossible and the velocity of the slide can only increase, until it bottoms out. Then, with only a diehard, pioneering core, the place has a chance to rebuild. Seeing CA, NY, MD, and IL lose a whole bunch of representatives and electoral votes would be great news for the rest of the country.

They won’t, of course. They will simply continue to parasitize the rest of the country with bailout after federal program after bailout unless and until the country expressly forbids it.

There’s always some little bit of someone else’s money the liberal ticks can find.

Fucking Christ. If I could leave, I would. I already have preliminary plans to leave as soon as Mom and Dad are cold in the ground. Right now, there are just too many constraints- helping to take care of the parents, trying to start a business, the house here. I’m considering either Montana or Wyoming- I don’t care about the cold, I just want out of this crazy shithole. I might consider Texas, but y’all would simply have to put up with the fact I’m a native-born Californian- I will not cover that up for anyone. :em58:

I was talking with a friend of mine (who leans left) at a party in LA a couple of weeks ago. Basically, we agreed that the country overall did ok during the election, but as a state, we are boned. :em72:

CA will get a lot worse, before she can get better.

Yes it will. And while it’s going to hurt a hell of a lot, I hope it hurts real bad. I’m hoping the nation can look at us, once again as a leading example, of just because you wish it so, it isn’t going to happen. Over 25% of California employees are government employees, people that produce nothing…they’ve long since run out of other peoples money.

At work we were discussing this Cap and Trade Ponzi scheme today and trying to figure out what price, from power to food, wouldn’t be affected by this and surprise!!!, it just another tax that hits from so many sides, you can’t fathom it.

do you think in 20 years we’ll see a story like this, backing down from this stupidity?

    California eases diesel pollution rules

Air regulators significantly scaled back tough regulations after they admit scientists overestimated the amount of pollution emitted from engines.

The changes, which were prompted by the economic downturn that has idled many trucks and construction machines, also came after the California Air Resources Board acknowledged that some of the original rules had been based on a major miscalculation of how much pollution the engines produce.

also this, which ALSO resonates like the Global Warming hoax:

The air board has been in a difficult period, not only because of that miscalculation, but also because an air board staffer who wrote a study on premature deaths caused by diesel pollution was found to have faked his scientific credentials.
