Depart from the Obamedia narrative and you’re fired.
So just exactly what kind of sacrilege was it that veteran ABC anchorman Doug McKelway committed on air? Reporting on a left-wing protest during the Gulf Oil Crisis, he said:
the sparsely attended event attracted protesters “largely representing far-left environmental groups.” [He cited Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth.]
And Greenpiss and Fiends of the Earth aren’t far-left environMENTAL groups?
He went on to say the protest “may be a risky strategy because the one man who has more campaign contributions from BP than anybody else in history is now sitting in the Oval Office, President Barack Obama, who accepted $77,051 in campaign contributions from BP.”
And that isn’t factually correct how, exactly?
McKelway added that the Senate was unlikely to pass “cap-and-trade” legislation this year, because “the Democrats are looking at the potential for huge losses in Congress come the midterm elections. And the last thing they want to do is propose a huge escalation in your electric bill, your utility bill, before then.”
So, this kneecap’n trade bill… How’s the passage of that working out for you, Democrat Socialists? Oh dear, McKelway was caught doing something that, in times long gone by, was referred to as “reporting.”
Can’t have that.
And don’t get started on how ABC are perfectly within their rights to fire whomever they please, because they quite obviously are, being a private enterprise and all that. That’s not the point. Just don’t ever again start bleating about how there’s “no liberal bias” in the Obamedia, because we’re pretty certain that, had McKelway said something similar about Dubya back in the day, his job wouldn’t have been in any danger.
Just ask Keith “Bathtub Boy” Olberdouche.
