Prayer Brigade, Teeeen-SHUN!
A bit overdue, as I’m sure you all already know that LC Roguetek’s beloved wife is battling cancer.
So far, she has won the first battle through surgery and is reportedly doing well, which is fantastic news.
But the war is not yet over, and this is where you all come in. Countless times we’ve witnessed the power of the Imperial Prayers and Good Thoughts Brigade™, and it is time to once more deploy its awesome strength in the face of that most vile and satanic disease.
Join me, if you would, in prayers and good thoughts (if you have no particular deity) for LC Roguetek’s wife and a speedy and full recovery. Let us channel the will and strength of the Almighty that the war may be won to His Glory.

I’m ahead of ya’, Misha. I’ve known of this for awhile and this woman, Roguetek’s wife, has been at the top of my list every time I say my prayers.
Been there, got that, got the tee shirt.
But I have a suggestion…….Roguetek is going through his own special ordeal, one I know all too well. Don’t forget him and his family’s needs as well. No doubt, in typical rottie fashion, he will say little and not complain. I just wanted you guys to know it’s a real bitch to deal with sometimes.

Not to highjack the thread, but since prayers are going out, I found out a bit ago a friend of mine lost his 2 year battle with cancer this morning.
He is with the Lord now, but leaves behind a wife and 5 kids, he was only 40 years old, so if you guys would say an extra prayer for Tims family, they really need it now.

Eternal and Loving God, we humbly ask your healing mercies for LC Roguetek’s wife and family. During this time of struggle, may your Spirit bring love and renewal where disease seeks to bring death and suffering. And may we all reflect on the daily mercies given to us by your loving and fatherly hand, a symbol of your compassion and yearning for the salvation of all people. All this is prayed in the Name of the Gracious and Glorified One. AMEN.

SITREP AS FOLLOWS:
Ms Roguetek is home, and resting comfortably. A radical mastectomy was competantly performed by Integris Baptist medical center. The next step is resting until all incisions are healed, followed by the inspection of the removed material, to determine the type and amount of chemo. Finished out with a nice solid dose of radiation therapy, possibly proton therapy. After that, it’s just careful observation.
And, of course, the -price-. We’re uninsured. I’d have bought insurance, if I could have found anyone to sell it to me at a price I could actually afford ( I’m a disabled vet, my income is pretty laughable. ). not to mention, there was no time to purchase a family policy ( diagnosis 2 days after being married! ).
I don’t know how much I will owe, but it’s not going to be pretty. Still, money well spent.
And yes, I could certainly use some prayer.
I’m… scuse me, there’s something in my eyes, I’ll be back in a bit.
I have felt the prayers and good wishes from the Rotties during my own battle with cancer. It was like being wrapped in a warm blanket where I felt safe and secure. My thoughts and prayers go out to your wife Roguetek for a full recovery. It was good news to hear the surgery went well. All the best to you and yours.

Roguetek…I don’t know the particulars in your case, but my wife spent three solid months hospitalized at Stanford, two more weeks in three different hospitals, Lord only knows how many medications, doctor visits, X-rays and radiation, the CAT scans. But she ran into difficulty after the chemo, it damn near killed her, damaged her heart, even now. Insurance at this point has paid one point three million. Many have no recourse but to file bankruptcy. We barely held on to our house, I just didn’t talk about it, but that is now past. If you rent you cannot lose your place. A horrible scenario at best…..yet often other ways can be worked out. In my case I will never be able to retire, we blew our four oh one kay and are now working on her stock. I am doing all I can to increase my income. I got demoted to part time the same day she was diagnosed. No, not a good day at all. But with the help of family, friends and others we get by OK. And can your wife collect state disability or SSD in any form? Are VA benefits available to you? Check into breast cancer resources, there are many. Many, many things to be checked out.
But you know what?
In a very real sense I found something far more precious, I found how much I loved my lady, just be there for yours, Rogue….just be there for her. I did things I never thought I could do, or would be asked to do. I found out I truly do have friends, the Rotties precious and priceless in my eyes…and those you see during your daily life……
We stand with our own, Roguetek……and dammit, if you need some gas money and we all gotta’ eat, Bro….and your lady will need medications, I know first hand they are not cheap…….
And yes, my wifes chances of five years stand at fifty per cent, if that be the case, I want them to be good ones, for her to know she is loved……..and she may just simply go the distance, who knows?
So we stand together…I stand with you, as does my wife, Cavechick. She would love to correspond with yours, they share a similar story. And so do you and I, my friend….

altho, from what I gather, the good news is we caught it early, and treated it agressively, so this might not be quite so bad financially.
Yes, very good news. My wifes leukemia was fairly advanced, untreated it would have killed her three months from diagnosis, half her marrow cells cancerous. You sound to be in better shape there. This is a lifetime gig, for both of us. I have no doubt you will be watching……..I will, or rather my wife can send an e-mail to start.
And I will keep your lady in my prayers…….I hate this fucking disease……..

Prayers for Mrs Roguetek to be cured. Never give up. I’m a 10 year cancer survivor, it can be beaten. Granted I was very blessed. Very early stage contained and hadn’t had a chance to spread. Did double prophylactic mastectomies and got it all. Keep fighting, keep praying and believing that God in His mercy will heal you.
Prayers for Roguetek to have the strength to do what he’s got to do. It’s obvious you really love your wife, don’t stop. Right now that’s the very best medicine in the world, knowing that no matter what You love Her. Don’t worry, give it all to God, He knows better than we do what’s necessary.

It still seems like only yesterday that my dad told us that he was going to a “meeting” with our pastor, which was odd, but not inaccurate; he gave my dad a ride over to my mom’s work to break the news, and then drove my mom home. They told me and my sister at home, and I was in so much shock, despite the fact that I had a feeling it was coming.
