The Salute
Rurik once explained to me his dedication to the Patriot Guard Riders and their commitment to our current crop of veterans. He told me that he had pledged once that no generation of vets would ever again be treated the way his was, and that was why he and the other PGR’s do what they do. In conversations I’ve had with Mike M I’ve tried to tell him of the high esteem that my and Crumb Crunchie’s generations hold the Vietnam veteran, that we respect and honor what they did for not only our country, but for our Corps. This video shows both of those sentiments. It was shot during Rolling Thunder, an annual Memorial Day veteran’s motorcycle run to the Wall in D.C. It is a short snippet of a very tired Marine’s six and a half hour long vigil to honor our nations fallen and the sacrifices of the veterans who preceded him.
http://nicedoggie.net/media/Rolling_Thunder_2010_-_A_Marine_s_Vigil.flvHis name is Staff Sergeant Tim Chambers and he has done this for the past 8 years. He does it to honor the generations of veterans that came before us. One Marine who demonstrates what I’ve told Mike M, and returns the favor of Rurik’s pledge.

Oorah, Staff Sergeant.
While we can find men like this our beloved country will survive.
First!!
And I hope I got that oorah spelled right.
VonZorch says…
If this website is any indication, Von Zorch, and I think it is, then we’ve got no worries because it’s literally crawling with men (and women) like that.
Bless him. You can tell he can barely stand from exhaustion but he doesn’t break. Thank you Staff Sgt. Chambers. You are not alone in your dedication to your fellow Soldiers.

Dammit- Really dusty down here in Austin or mebbe the chemicals from my store.
Thanks Bro !!!
OOO-Rah Marine, Carry-On !!!
Yes indeed sir. We can find men like this and will continue to it’s hardwired into their DNA. They Americans cannot do otherwise.
As a vet myself, I find myself questioning whether I did my best in service to honor this generation. They live their lives in quiet desperation, normal home family challenges that we all share, yet making ends meet on pay that is an insult for what we expect them to do in return. Asking them to endure long separation from family, friends and love ones. The left can NEVER be forgiven for sullying the sacrifice of an entire generation of Vets. Now we’ve put them in positions of even more power, allowed our educational system to be perverted by twisted views and poisoned the minds of millions through the media. Perhaps G-d will forgive them, but for I, theirs are crime against humanity, a Nation and liberty-loving people everywhere, can never, ever give them absolution. Perhaps I’ll pay for this, but my judgment is eternal damnation.
It suddenly got dusty here in Indiana too. God I love our country and dam it to hell those who would try to destroy what so many have sacrificed to save.
It is men like these, with strength, honor, dedication, self-sacrifice and love of country, family and God, who put their lives on the line for all our citizens, our freedoms, who deserve our respect, our support and our honor. I am deeply humbled by the respect shown and strength of purpose displayed by Staff Sergeant Chambers. I thank my father and uncles, who served in WWII, my cousins who served in Korea, my husband and friends who served in Vietnam and my son and my son-in-law who served during this latest Iraq conflict for their service to this country.
Rurik!
If you guys have a function down in our sunny spot of the swamp, you’re headquarters/com’center is right here.
‘Got parkin’ enough to turn 10-10′s rig around twice,, shady too. 10 minutes from the airport.
Crunchie might tell you that we could camp a platoon, with enough yard left over for the BBQ ‘n horse shoe pits.
‘Got some spare time, n’ you know my obsession with preserving these faces and voices..
“Gotta be done right now,, ‘coz later, nobody can do it.”

Got some dust in my eyes too, somehow …
Thank you Staff Sgt. Chambers, and all of the others who display the same honors!
I just watched, jaw set, eyes misty…..I really don’t know what the hell you can say?

Only one thing you can say.
OO-fucking-RAH, Marine! Semper fi!
Let the fleabag pissniks spout their crap to THAT crowd, there wouldn’t be enough left of them for the Coroner to Identify!! Who am I kidding, those vermin are too busy calling and harassing the parents and spouses of the fallen, as well as spouting their tripe outside of and in view of hospitals reating our recuperating wounded!!
There is a new post explaining the OathKeepers which I call to your attentopm. I know there are several of us here amongst the Defenders of the Rottie Empire.
Cheapshot911, thanks for the invite. Recently I received an invitation to move to Arizona. As one of our frontline theaters, that is very inviting. I know I have friends around DFW who would welcome me beneath the Bonnie Blue Flag. And likewise in Southern Louisiana. With Florida too, I’ve got a whole belt of land I could call home. And for various reasons, I’m taking a more serious stake in SoDak.
Florida, to Arizona? My intent is to rally where ever I hear the sound of the artillery.
Ooooh-rah Ssgt.
