Weekend Open Thread

I thought an open thread was in order after the week of all the Coronation Hype of the Obamessiah.  Time to just shoot the bull and have some fun for a change.   We can get back to riding Obie like a rented mule on Monday.

Ever since the Emperor (may all his Vodka bottles run dry) decided we needed our musical horizons expanded by introducing us to Russian and Ukrainian musicians such as Sogdiana and Glukoza, I’ve gotten hooked (dammit) on searching for more foreign groups.   I found one tonight that I happen to like, so I’ll torture all of you with it, just cause I can.  Neener Neener!

They are another Russian group called Serebro, and this is the english version of their song “Song #1” that they performed on Eurovision 2007.

Drool warning guys.   These gals are …um…cute.  *snicker*

I think the Gitmo detainees should be dispersed thoughout our prison system, thrown in with the general population. I’d take odds on any of them being alive after a year.

How about charter memberships in the Aryan Brotherhood? What is it they call Arabs…dune coons? Poor insurance risk, I’m sure.

The radical muzzies do their best recruiting within the prison population. Throw one in, ten come out. I’d rather not rely on the gen pop to cleanse our nation of this plague on humanity.

I still like the idea of sending them to Alcatraz or maybe a tent city in the Mojave desert if we can’t send them to hell.

It seems that I heard somewhere that in his first week in office, Obama issued a record number of Executive Orders – including the one closing Guantanamo.

Now I’m absolutely certain that one of these EOs was to put an immediate halt to both the “Domestic Surveillance” put in place by George Bush, and an immediat halt to the Echelon program. Right? …… right?

Someone has to pull the trigger. That someone will be the “example” after the UN War Crimes Kangaroo Tribunal gets done with them. Kinda like the idea but it does leave a Nazi-ish after taste. Run the International Red Cross off and just starve the bastards to death. Cheaper than lead pills and could be more entertaining in a morbid sort of way.

    Here’s an interesting little tidbit.

I also went on the Portland paper site, and nowhere in any story I found, was there a party affiliation.

    Gosh, I wonder…

They’ll give you the bullshit answer that party affiliation isn’t mentioned because it’s a non-partisan position like this one, but in both cases, they’re Democrats.

I could link a couple of others, but I want to remain immoderate.

That’s becoming a tradition in Portland, by the way. Some years ago then-mayor Neil Goldschmidt was slamming his babysitter for several years, beginning when she was 14 years old. Though some people knew, it didn’t come to light until after his tenures as governor and Secretary of Transportation in the peanut farmer’s administration.

Good song, Mrs. M. I may have to track down a Serebro CD, so I can give my co-workers another reason to be annoyed at me. (In the past, I’ve treated them to such things as Afro Celt Sound System’s “Volume 2: Release” and TATu.)

And yes, the “demure little blonde” is scrumptious.

…And thank you as well, Mrs. M, for reminding me of the Glukoza video (“Schweine”) that Misha posted here some months ago. At the time, I wasn’t able to download it due to an old computer with a crappy video card and a dialup Internet connection; I’ve since upgraded both.

Just checked out the video and it’s as hilarious as advertised. Of course, I’ve now got images of cartoon Nazi pigs and “Ein zwei drei! Shikii-shikii schweine!” running through my head in a total audiovisual earworm.

Might have to find a Glukoza CD, too… :em01:

    Cheers Mike.

Some fucking beautiful lamb cutlets on the bbq today. Grilled to perfection with some good beer – and of course the public holiday.

Good stuff all round – except for the hiding we got from South Africa in the cricket.
