Until Then

Donald Sensing at One Hand Clapping has posted a link to a wonderful presentation.

It’s perfect for the holidays, and may it also provide some quiet comfort to Spencer Renehan and his family, who today buried their beloved son and brother Lance Corporal Kyle Renehan, USMC. May he always be in our hearts.

You can also find the presentation here.

Being a civilian, I always felt I still had the right to comment on war, as, although I was not there, I understand suffering and loss. But when I see a presentation like this one..pictures of a split second in a military person’s existence, that I have time to dwell and think upon, I once again realize that I am not understanding fully their hard work and sacrafice. That’s why my heros are kids as much as 20 years younger than me having hot lead fly past them, and things exploding all around them…not Superman or a basketball player or a football star…All of those guys can only be what they currently are due to the sacrafice of our young men and women. I understand now why they call them ‘America’s Finest’…
..True heros worthy of safe return to their families, and the respect and admiration of the whole of the World for their support of freedom and liberty.
(even if some of the World might need a slight ClueBatting to understand exactly how much our BEST are sacraficing for Them as well as us..)

It is especially gratifying to see images of our soldiers with Iraqi civilians. Soemthing we see precious little of.

Merry Christmas (or Happy Hanukah, Kwanzaa or whatever you choose to or not ot celebrate this time of year) to all, and best wishes for a happy and profitable new year.

    Great link.

The preceding comments of the LCs have voiced my sentiments a lot better than I ever could…..

Sitting at my desk in NYC, tears falling on my Christmas tie, I am once again reminded of a single truth. Our military is, in fact, the best that this country can produce! Having said that, I want to point out to those who despair for the future, those who worry that we will not prevail, those of us who see the glass half full. Any country that can produce men and women such as these is and will remain a beacon of light and truth to the rest of this world.
Pray for our military, pray for each other, and have a Merry Christmas.

On a related topic, I just got trolled by “Simon” of “Simon and the Lefties” fame, on my Christmas Letter To The Troops post. For anyone interested in preemptively banning this sterling example of a human parasite, his IP is 67.169.59.238.

He apparently sincerely hopes that the troops get a “bullet in the Brain” for Christmas. Loverly, eh? Really puts the “ass” in “Compassion.”

I went ahead and kept his comment, as an object lesson in Leftist small-mindedness. Feel free to rip him a new orifice if you guys are in the mood!

I have no right to salute, but as a civilian I can do this:

*doffs cap and places it over heart*

My respect and admiration for all who stand in that thin red line between me and tyranny. And for all who ever have or ever will.

    Denita,

I posted a reply to Simon, but it doesn’t seem to have stuck.

Brian B–it’s a silly system, but one of the best we’ve found for reducing the horrendous volume of Comment Spam we’ve been recieving. Basically, I have to approve any unauthorized (i.e., not logged-in to TypeKey) comments. Spammers don’t care for logging in, thus I have the happy pleasure of deleting their trash with great abandon before it even makes it to the thread. Also useful for keeping trash like Simon out as well–though I went ahead and approved his crap so it can stand as stark tribute to the stupidity and hatred of the Left. Any more of his asstasticness will be deleted without even making it onto the site. Unless I’m feeling particularly generous towards any LC’s who feel like smacking him around…*grin*

I read and approved your comment just a moment ago, so it’s shown on the thread. Very beautiful rebuttal, hon!

Just stopped by W.T.T.F. and gave Simon the “pimple faced fat kid” treatment.

    It was very soul satisfying.

It’ll be even more so if it turns out to be one of the ass-monkeys that was run out of here.

I was especially glad to see the photos of our guys with the kids as well. That needs to be shown ahelluva lot more! The American warrior has always cared for the smallest victims of war, but in the post-VietNam era that has been relegated in the eyes of the MSM to what the “good” soldiers from WWII did. Well we still do, and besides FNC I for one have seen very little of it displayed in the MSM.

An old Marine once told me “The civilian mind will never comprehend how a Marine can kill with one hand, and caress with the other”.

In the quote above he was referring, I believe, to the moonbats of his day. I’m quite sure he would have to refine the quote if he ever spoke to some of the magnificent civilain LC’s of the Rott.

    George Turner growls and barks:

Now that you’ve all seen it, can someone explain to me about the soldier who was gassing up the donkey? Was he just a city kid who didn’t know that donkeys are front-loading hay burners, not rear-loading gas guzzlers?

  26. 26

George, he was probably filling a gas can the donkey had hanging on his back.

As for the presentation, it’s very moving. I’d say more, but I need to go find the kleenex.

    kat-missouri growls and barks:

Actually, the guy was filling up water bags strapped to the camels back. If you look at the dispensing device, it’s off of a water truck. recall the problem with potable water in many areas.

May God Bless and keep our troops everyone.

for those that died at Mosul and their families, may God grant them mercy and compassion. For those that were injured, may they make the long trip home safe and their recovery be swift.

Wonderful music, great photos, brave and honorable American soldiers.

I second the emotions of everyone here.

Rottweilers, please spare a moment and a prayer for my cousin Keith with the 82nd, fighting the good fight in Iraq as we speak.
